All Aboard the Independence II!! (Week 37) Leaving Southhampton 9/12/08
5 updates in 24 Hours
Ahoy fellow Indy II cruisers, this is your cruise director and I got an updated position for all your MINI cruisers on board.
If you were looking out the port side you may have noticed that we passed the Milne and Williams Seamounts. Off to starboard we are passing the New Foundland Basin.
As of 12:00 hours Ship's time the mighty Indy II was at 44°47'N , 40°12'W

Update on Position
Good morning shipmates!
Here is your update for 18 September. The Indy II has provided an update at 12:00 hours ship's time as 43°23'N , 49°00'W
Now are you asking yourself what does all these degrees and minutes mean as it relates to your MINI? Simply put and relevent to us is that the ship was (probably at 06:00 hours EDT) 1,294 miles from the first port in Jersey City, NJ.

Yes, my MA at Prestige Mini- a mere 40 miles from the VDC- has said we should prepare for delivery on the last week of the month. Not sure if he means next week or the week of the 29th, but I'm excited either way!!
Happy Friday shipmates!!!
Here is your update for 19 September 2008. The majestic Independence II and her cheeky captain last transmitted a position at 12:00 ship's time as 42°06'N , 57°35'W.
In the last 24 hours the Indy II has made 16.075 knots and traveled almost 444 miles. She was only 858.29 miles away at 10:00 AM EDT and only 39 hours out of port (presuming that ship's time is 5 hours behind Eastern Daylight Saving Time).
That makes the possible arrival of our beloved MINIs (probably all boozed up from the cruise) on or about midnight Sunday. However, the ship will more than likely slow drastically as she approaches NYC harbor. But, none the less, Sunday for sure and hopefully early!
BlueMeanie probably knows a lot more about the time it takes to get a ship to port.

I can't wait!
On a side note, the OL says that my car is FINALLY "En Route."
Thank goodness for NAM otherwise I wouldn't know that my car is actually only a couple of days away from landing in the U.S.!

ONE MORE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good morning cruisers! Well this is the last day at sea. So the Captain has asked if we would all settle up our MINI's bar tabs and don't forget to tip the service staff.
As of approximately 08:00 hours EDT the stalwart Indy II is at 40°42'N , 65°48'W. She is a mere 433.3 miles from port.

Last report was Sunday 6am and they were so close to port that I imagine they are unloaded and at the VDC right now. Mini Tracker still says "En Route" but it said "Awaiting Transport" until a few days ago when the ship was long at sea.
Call your MAs and get an idea of when to be ready, if you haven't yet!

LOL. My MA just said that my MINI is still on the water but about a week out till delivery!!! She is probably trying to keep me from calling her everyday about when I can pick up the car.
Lets hope everyone made it safe with no lingering damage so we can have quick deliveries here on the east coast.

I stopped in at Mini of the Main Line today...only 10 minuites from home. My MA confirmed that the Independence II is in port, but that the vehicles probably haven't even been unloaded yet. I have a JCW kit being installed at the VDC and he said the car could arrive as early as Friday, but probably not until next week. I can only hope it all goes smoothly. Looking forward to seeing photos of all of your Mini's!
Hello everyone! I just got back stateside myself, and it looks like my mini was:
DISCHARGED NEW YORK, NY 22/09/2008 09:00
Anyone else?
If that was UK time, it was about 2 p.m. Hope he's not as jetlagged as I am!

I got the same report!
I'm a bit jealous of all you NYers! What's happened with the ship? sailwx.info isn't showing any updates since the 21st, and I'm waiting for Chester to get to Charleston. Maybe they all took a field trip to catch the last game at Yankee stadium...
Engender, where were you? Somewhere fun, I hope.

I've found that sailwx.info is always a day or so behind, especially once the ship is in harbor.

The sailors like to have some fun while in port, you know. Usually they go to New York to have some fun, or just to the mall to get some some American goods. The ship may be getting loaded with some cars filling the spots emptied by our Minis before it sets sail again. Check the WW schedule for the next stop, they'll update it if there is a delay. Otherwise expect the ship to be on time or a little ahead of schedule, despite what the tracker says.
An Eastern Europe tour starting in Prague and ending in Istanbul. Go to Istanbul - it is sooo awesome. The people are incrediblely friendly and you cannot beat the history!
Same report here. I think my friends are as excited to see the new baby as I am. Been getting the garage all ready for him.
