For your convenience, here is a few links

To see if your MINI is booked for any WW ship, punch in your VIN, and hold your breath!

For real time tracking of the ship at the dock and the vicinity:

Sparky takes a glass of champagne and waves to his sibblings. Bon Voyage!!!

Let's hope it's smooth sailing across the pond.

I'm curious to know how much we can actually track the ship across the ocean. I wonder if we'll be able to see on webcam as it crosses the panama canal.

I think the schedule had them in Panama around 9/21, right?

I'm thinking pick up at east bay will be the week of 10/6, since arrival at port is 9/29, then one week at VDC, one week of travel to Pleasanton.

A lot, kewlby! The AIDA thread is tons of fun, with many maps and pix. Page 3 gets really interesting, as they spent the better part of one day watching the Panama Canal webcam. There's apparently a hawk who has designated himself the guardian of the locks. You can see him in a QuickTime movie of the Topeka in 2007 and in AvidMINI's stunning sunset movie.

Glad to be aboard! We are picking her up at Rasmussen MINI in Portland, OR. The lease on my 325xi wagon end on 9/24. Hopefully they will allow me a generous grace period so I can turn it in when I pick up the new MINI.

We're booked! Just plopped my VIN in the link Dinlaka provided (thank you!) and it's more real than ever! Now I get to update my signature. Hi everyone!

Wow, thanks tancred! This makes the waiting fun. My husband thinks that's a Peregrine Falcon.

Your husband is right. I tend to confuse falcons and hawks. But then, I also refer to any small brightly colored bird as "uhhh, some kind of finch".

AvidMINI also made a movie of the Gatun Locks.

Of 314 VIN's booked under our booking number, all but 21 are loaded on the vessel.

Given that the ones not loaded just got there, I wonder if they will have to wait for the next ship.

Anyway, my vehicle was loaded, so let's sail!

I was almost too afraid to look since I still wasn't booked as of Sunday at 2200 even though it was completed on 9/2 according to ASK-MINI, but I maganged to squeek by. I have visions of Scout racing up the ramp and jumping over the water, landing in the last available spot as the ship starts pulling away from the doc.

And because I apparently have too much time on my hands, here's a little info I found about our trusted wessel.

For future reference....
The call number for the Elektra is SIWB.

Wicked! Nice find Kewlby . I last checked the sailwx.info at 3 this afternoon to no avail. I guess it just popped up in the last few hours.

Now I'll probably be checking Elektra's position every chance I got....and that's probably more than 10 times a day!

I'e been checking all day, during meetings, after meetings, after I got home from work. The Elektra is cruising through the English Channel. I love it. I can't wait to track her on the open Atlantic. Right with you there, Dinlaka.

Cool, snowcap_millie.

It's going to be a nice journey for Elektra.

Now, I'm getting back to follow her voyage.
