Im trying not to think about this whole thing actually. I'm a week 41'er, but still- takes 1 week to make, going to be time at the boatdock to load, going to take 20 or so days by boat, then at the docks, then at the dealer, then a week or so to put the JCW aero on. I'd drive myself nuts thinking about it, going to the website to see it in production and all that.

Can I just slip into a coma until I get the call from the dealer? Anyone want to hit me over the head with a hammer?

Hello everyone,

This is my second trip through the support groups. My first was a wk36-06 MCS and now i am waiting for my wk41-09 JCW to be delivered to albany, NY. This preVIN waiting is evil, but it does get fun after that.

cheers

The status of my Chili Red Clubman just changed from order to production!

It looks the the MINIbirth is going to be on week 41.

OK, I'm scheduled for production. Have my VIN number. The options are correct (even though sometimes they are listed and sometimes not).

I told myself that obsessing about where in the production process my MINI was would not happen to me. Just seemed silly. But I can't seem to help myself.

I am feeling a motoring deficit. You just can't do that in a 10yo SUV. I need an intervention.

Me, too! Gots me a vin and the friendly guy at ASKMINI says we're on-track for build completion on 10/11/08. Then comes the long trip over the sea to Tejas.

Me, Too.... (texas)

Just saw Gadgett's entry.... since were both from central texas (tejas).... and I dont' even have to call ask mini.... checked on line and I also have a VIN, so safe assumption is that my car will be done later this week also.... on my birthday give or take... so my car and I will have nearly identical birthday.. how many times can you say that about a car you've owned???? weird isn't it??..

Very cool, indeed! Maybe we'll bump into each other (NOT while motoring, of course) when we pick up our respective rides at MINI of SA. BTW, this is my 2nd MINI from SA but I will be a bit happier once our Austin MINI is open for service... these 1/2-day trips to San Antonio are not my idea of fun, but at least I get to spend the drive in my MINI

I see in your sig that you ordered in early August but are still in the week 41 group. Wonder what happened to cause such a delay? I ordered in late September for a week 41 build. Maybe I got preferential build status since this is my 2nd

what u order?

hey gadgett...

what did u order?...

when I first went to Mini of SA, I was told it was about a 2.5 month wait from production number assignment for clubmans.... and I don't recall if it was a shorter wait for coopers? and I belive it was 3 month wait for 'S' or something like that...... don't really remember the wait times for the others in comparison to the clubman..

For the clubman's, there was already like 5 or 7 folks in front of me in early august, that much I do recall.. so to receive a production number in late august was a surprise for me....

I ordered on 09/27/08 and was told about 6-8 weeks for delivery. I now have a VIN and a build completion date of 10/11, so it's just a matter of time...

What did I order? It would be easier to enumerate what I didn't order but here it goes...

My '09 MCS in Dark Silver with Black roof/mirror and Black bonnet stripes will have the following goodies:
* Cold Weather Package
* Convenience Package
* Premium Package
* Sport Suspension
* 6-Speed Tranny
* Xenon Headlamps
* Rear Fog Lamps
* Limited Slip Differential
* 17" Flame Spoke Wheels w/ Run Flats
* Chrome Line Interior
* Antracite Headliner
* Punch Carbon Black Leather Sport Seats
* Nav
* Alarm
* 10-Speaker Hi-Fi
* Sirius Radio
* Rear Parking Distance Control
* Rooster Red Color Line
* Piano Black Interior Surface
* Rooster Red Steering Wheel
* Rooster Red Shift ****
* Rooster Red E-Brake Handle

BTW, the Clubman looks very nice! They had one on the lot when I ordered my MCS. I really like the differences but ultimately chose to go with another MCS to replace my '06 MCS (also Dark Silver with Black roof/mirrors/bonnet stripes), but did elect to totally redo my interior and get a few options that I skipped the first time around.

I'm envious but will be there soon enough myself.

I guess I shouldn't complain too much though, since I am not a first-time MINI driver and still have a perfectly good '06 MCS to tool around in until the '09 arrives

Headliner issue?

Reading in the clubman forum, so far, quite a few of the week 36,37,38 groups that are now receiving thier cars, have had there cars with the wrong headliners: Specifically, those clubmans that were ordered w/ ANthracite HL came in the standard grey, even though anthracite was ordered/confirmed across the board.

Supposedly there is a backorder of anthracite parts, so the general consensus is that MINI is 'pushing' the cars through versus waiting for the parts to be in stock fully..... wonder if and how many will get affected nearly 1 month after them......

Yikes! Dat sux. The only way this would be acceptable to me is if they asked first, or the dealer were able to replace it at no fee after. I ordered Antracite and would not be pleased if my car arrived at my delivery appointment with ANYTHING other than what I ordered as a surpise.

I sent an email to my MA asking him if this is a Clubman only issue. Will let you know how he responds. I would not be happy without the AHL but seems like it can be replaced by the dealer if it should show up in the standard gray.

Birthday

My wife's MCCS was finished today and is in post assembly inspection.

The cool thing is that it was "born" on my wife's birthday! She thinks that is pretty sweet.

BIRTHDAY GIFT!

Just called asked mini and the automated system said my car is currrently in productoin with a completion date of 10/11/08!.... the date of my birthday... how cool is that???!! does the completoin date of the car count as it's Birth Day???

anyways.... now I"m wondering why there arent' more week 41 members!?!?!? is there another thread were missing?? cuz, now the talk will revolve around the ability to make the oct. 13 boat to charleston... at least that is where I recall the VDC is for most of the cars I've seen in Mini of S.Antonio....

Woohoo! I'm hopefully in (or on) the same boat as you are, edjd. My car is scheduled to be completed on 10/11 as well and I hope to make the boat, too. Already ordered my replacement TxTag and am researching how to hardwire my Passport again.... can't wait!

Looks like we're all moving ahead nicely.

I have been using the automated line to get my status updates. As talked about many times before, it's hardly accurate. Currently says in the body shop but I spoke to a live rep and they told me I am complete and sitting on the dock waiting for shipment!

I might be a little excited. (insert back-flipping smiley icon here)

Looks like i've joined the week 41 group. as of yesterday, my car is scheduled to be completed on the 10th. is there anywhere i can find out what port & VDC my car should be coming to? my dealership is in upstate NY, and i think i recall there being a VDC in jersey.

this is entirely too exciting. i hate waiting

I think I remember reading that the port info is on the Vehicle Inquiry Form that you are supposed to get from your dealer.(?)

Reminds me I need to ask as I never got one.

The "How To Track Your Mini" sticky thread at the top of this "1st Gear" forum... https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=144057 has excellent info on ports/shipping lines/tracking info.
