Our 7-11's here all have 5 grades of gas 87,88,89,91,93 if I remember correctly. Are your's the same? There are a few other places to get 91 here but not many.
LOL!... gadgett, feel free to chime in, but ............ not many 7-11's around central texas anymore...let alone a 7-11 w/ gas.... man, the good ol'days and the 7-11 slurpee!!!!!
around central texas, pretty much confined to 87/89/93 octane for the most part....

Sadly, I don't pay attention to the brand of gas anymore - just what's conveniently located and has a pay-at-the-pump. We just got a Shell station in our neighborhood so that's were I usually fill up as it's on the way home. However, I agree that in Texas, I usually just see the 3 grades mentioned, plus E-85 and Diesel at some.
Hi edjd,
I'd be glad to answer your questions, especially to help pass the time as you mentioned :-)
1. I've been using the mid-grade gas since day-one with my MCS. After 3 years, there have been no ill effects. I have never tried the "regular" and never wanted to spoil him by giving him a taste of the good stuff ;-)
2. Yes- I've been going to MINIofSA exclusively for service. In fact, it was well over a year between my most recent LOF and the one prior. That's why I was down in SA - to get a "low-mileage LOF" and while I was there, I had Rob appriase my MINI at which time I decided to just order a new one. My car has only 16k miles in 3 years, so it's very low mileage. BTW, BMW of Austin has aquired a MINI license and I'm told that they're only months away from breaking ground on their MINI of Austin dealership (www.minicooperofaustin.com . It'll be nice to not have to drive down to SA for the simple stuff, but I really don't mind too much as we do other stuff while down there.
3. I have had a few service visits over and above the regular maintenance and MINI of SA has been great, with the exception of being nearly 100 miles away. They've always been prompt, curteous and thorough. Even more so now that they have separated their MINI side from the BMW side.
I've always been a fan of German autos and even though the MINI is technically British, I still consider it a kissing cousing of our German Beemers. As such, it's been a reliable car so I have no complaints. I will say that although my car is low mileage, I had to replace the performance run-flats in what I thought was a very short amount of time/miles, and they weren't cheap. I'm sure you can say that about any performance car with sticky/soft tires, though.
I'd be happy to answer any other questions. Hopefully you'll soon see for yourself how great the MINI is :-)

She also called the VDC the VPC... There are not two acceptable names for the Vehicle Distribution Center, are there? My guess is that she's not very familiar with the tracking process, or crazed MINI enthusiasts.
I wouldn't mind if I knew something was happening. Just sitting at the dock is not progress.
Yeaah! my mini just finished the production stage
yeah!!..... oh wait, i still have more long weeks ahead
before i meet 'lil Oreo for the first time
hmm am I in the right week thread??

If your MINI just finished production this week, you're actually week 42. However, you're more than welcome here! I don't think I've seen a week 42 thread, so you mind as well stick around here. Your baby and my baby might end up on the same boat.
you know how long it takes to get to the Enroute stage? Wonder if they work weekends...
Sailings to the west coast are less frequent than to the other ports. I read one person whose Mini was going to the west coast had to wait eleven days. I've waited seven so far, but mine is destined for Charleston. Some people only wait a couple days. It all depends.
Yes, lets do get together. I live off 17th St between the Meadows and Kensington Park.
I was in Bradenton today working on my travel trailer and I saw 5 MINIs. Two at Crowder Bros. Hardware, one on Cortez Rd, one on Manatee Ave and one on University Pkwy. The one on University was a new AB/W that I have seen many times. Just beautiful and always spotless.

mrng gadgett.
same info. on mine.. ask mini can't provide any further info since they don't have any visibility, they stated,"MA input is required once the car is done being made".... WW ship doesn't have my VIN on it's cargo...so have to wonder if our cars could be on one of those K-Line ships?...
.... I mean how hard can it be to get 'real' data....especially in todays day/age... I"m trying to 'time' my sale of my 'outgoing' car....

I did the same as you with the same results. While it's somewhat reassuring to know that my MINI isn't alone waiting on the docks for a trip home, I'd prefer having some tidbit of info as to when it might get on a boat, etc... I sent the MINIofSA sales manager a note this morning asking for ANY info so we'll see....

Whooooooooooooooooo! Just got an e-mail from my MA telling me I made it on! I'm really relieved right now. I guess my baby only spent seven days on the docks. It'll be much easier to wait now, knowing that something's actually happening.

Frustrating!
