Just spoke to a really nice Ohio Stater at ASK MINI in Columbus, Ohio (I'm a Penn Stater). He indicated that my Mini will start production maybe by tomorrow and certainly no later than Sunday. He added that it would be completed no later than Sept. 7. That's good news for anyone who has been in the same non-boat as me. Good luck to all!

You mean "no later then Sept. 7"? If you don't mind my asking, Herby, what was the date you ordered yours? I ordered mine on July 24th... so I'm hoping that I am in the same non-boat... And we can get on the boat leaving the 8th!

I ordered mine June 25 and was given an arrival of sometime in October with stipulation that it may be an 08 or an 09. The MA couldnt tell me for sure till I had my production number. I hope my silver beauty can catch the first ship in September since they are raising the tax rate on cars in Delaware starting October 1.

Glad eveyone is getting as excited as I am for their new mini's my boyfriend just dosnt understand.
Well yo gotta be '09 because I refused the'08 because I could not get the roof rails. A guy that purchased his 1 day after me in tha same dealer took the '08 and he was wating for a ship week 33

Engender.....I sure hope he said Sept. 7 rather than Jan.7! Thanks for the correction. I actually ordered mine on July 24 too, although it wasn't submitted until July 25. Loading onto a ship and leaving on the 13th sounds reasonable to me if it finishes on the 7th. Departing on the 8th sounds unlikely, but if done a couple of days earlier it's possible.....only if there's room. A vin will be assigned when production actually starts and that will give a clearer picture.

By the way......it's Herby. Again, good luck to us!

Guys and Gals,

I am probably stating what you already know by the tracking thread. Unlike the West Coast, there are plenty more ships that might transport you MINIs from England to the East Coast. Here is the updated Schedule:

http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppSche...pe=generatePDF

Oh, how I wished I have never moved from Michigan to California now.....

Thanks for the schedule! With an expected completion date of 9/3, it looks like there are a lot of options in the next few days to get over here. If only MINI USA decides to send it to the East coast instead of the West...

And, dinlaka, I'm guessing that come winter you'll be quite happy to be in CA!

I'm stalled at body shop for a few days now. Do you think that the prod line has stopped for some reason? One would imagine that line adjustment are more likely early in the production cycle/year.

Nope.

If that were the case I think we'd see them adjust our completion dates out. A guy at ASK-MINI said that the paint shop part of the puzzle takes longer (4-5 days) than the other steps, and the process update from the factory might be a little delayed.

I'm also told the usual delay between completion date and boarding a ship to the east coast is generally 4-8 days.

8....long....days

Well, I called in to ASK-MINI and I'm still in the paint shop...however...my estimated completion date has been moved to 8/31 from 9/1! I guess that's progress.

Anyone else getting "better" revised dates from MINI?

Yes the same here. Called and still in paint shop (5 days now) The rep on ask-mini said that there system updates are currently down so she cant confirm if my mini is really in the paint shop or if it has moved on. The estimated finish data has also been moved to 8/31 from 9/1.

I went from 9/2 to 9/1 just now. The rep mentioned that the car is currently in the bodyshop but that may not be accurate as their system is down at the moment :D

Interesting to hear all of you in body shop, paint shop, etc as week 36'ers. The people on Ask Mini keep telling me I am a week 36'er but no build date scheduled yet and no vin issued yet. And that I should start production next week with completion 2nd week of September. Have a feeling I will be bumped to 37,38,39....

Okay, who's got too much time on their hands? Me!!

For those of you who use google earth, go can go to these coordinates, N50 53.735 W1 23.988 and see a birds-eye view of the Southhampton shipyard. There are other vehicles mixed in there, but the MINIs are the ones that don't have trunks. You can tell by the shapes of their shadows.

Yeah I just called ASK MINI automated 10 min. ago and still in the paint shop but now with the completion date of 8/30 (was 9/1)...that's tomorrow! Things are moving along ok, I guess.

Well, for most of us week 36ers, rest asure that though your beloved Mini will be completed a little later by a few days, we should be shipmates ...the Elektra comes 9/8. Here's hoping!

Kewlby, we all do! You can also tell they're MINIs by the contrast roofs and the bonnet stripes on many:

This location is a much better view: N50 53.267 W1 23.727.

I must have been looking at the wrong place. I thought they covered the cars before shipping, but this spot shows them all exposed.

So do you think the ASK-MINI live customer relations line will be closed on Monday? How are we supposed to get our fix, um, production updates if it is??
