Greg, your car looks AWESOME! I like the seats too; I got the same ones and they're terrific. I actually preferred the cloth over the leather or leatherette; they manage the extremely hot temps here in NorCal much better, IMO. My last few cars have had leather, and it was always a killer!

jgarner53, that's encouraging news! At least you're moving forward. Good luck and I hope your wait is over soon. You'll see it's every bit worth the wait. I'm still discovering new and amazing features in my car...and mine's "justacooper!"

Here's me taking delivery yesterday:

Thanks, Nancy! I just love the color too, even though by now it seems so common on these cars. I've never tired of it. Some reds on cars are too dark, while others are too tomato-like. This one is just right. My last red car was a 1958 Oldsmobile Super 88. I loved that car! It also had a white top and TONS of chrome. Coincidence?

Whoa, AvidMINI, we could almost have overlapped at Niello MINI on Sat! What time were you there? Husband and I were in town to visit friends and stopped by to pick up some bling (valve stem caps) around 5-ish. In the Parts dept, of the 3 customers buying anything, all were MINI people, not BMW people.

Still no more news on my MINI. Whether the "OL says delivery 2 days after actual arrival at dealer" theory is true or not is still a mystery to me. If that had been the case, I'd have expected my car to have arrived Sunday, with a message from our MA no later than today, and nothing. I even called the Sales Manager (left a msg) with no response.

So, Janet, you and I will maybe be picking our cars up on Friday together. If my car's even on a freaking truck. Who knows? Last time the OL had a delivery date, it sure as hell didn't make it onto that truck. For all I know, I'm still doing donuts in the VDC parking lot. (sigh)

Jgarner53, I'm sorry you're still MINIless, but I'm sure this ordeal (and I know it is) will fade quickly once you get behind the wheel of your car. I know, it's easy for me to say, but really. I'm convinced you'll forget the agonizing wait in time.

I was at Niello between 2 and 4. I left for a while and came back around 5:30 to pick up my floor mats (very nice 4-piece "MINI" carpet set, btw). I continue to be amazed by this little wonder. Everyone at work loved it and spoke very highly of it, so I had a pretty good Monday as Mondays go!

Please do post photos of your PW once you take delivery. I'd love to see it and I'd love to hear what you think of it.

Thanks, Janet. I miss the old beast... All 4,000 lbs. of her and her gaudy 55 lbs. of chrome "bling!"

When I ordered my MINI, my MA said the car would take 6-8 weeks for delivery, but that it could take as much as 10! Mine came in 36 days. It may be because it was nothing extraordinary. Red on a MINI is almost cliché, but that's just fine with me as I've always loved that color on the car!

Still love to see the variety of colors MINI offers, though. Variety is good.

Well, 8/26 as a business day is just about over, and no MINI for me. Did I mistakenly enter a Seinfeld episode or something? ("No MINI for you!") Gah! I'm going nuts!

But my first set of grill badges arrived today (to taunt me more, as if I had a car to put them on), and I ordered 2 more and a holder.

I've got accessories, a mix on my iPod, all I need now is the dam car!

Mine's at the dealer in Portland. Still awaiting installation of checkered mirror caps/scuttles/door handles, driving lamps, and checkered roof/stripes to be installed a few miles from the dealer. Not sure what's happening when. The vinyl installer emailed today and said the stripes/roof graphic had FINALLY arrived and the roof graphic had a bit of damage. After closer inspection, he thinks there's enough extra around the edges to make it work.
So, I prolly won't have it til next weekend. Can't drive down midweek.
:(

The part I don't get is that your MA knows if it has been assigned to a truck yet or not Why won't they tell you? Threaten them with less than 5 star customer service if they won't keep you apprised of your car's status! Keeping my fingers crossed for you. Hopefully you will be happily motoring by Friday!

Oh, man. I'm lovin' it. (at the risk of sounding like a McDonald's commercial ) I always look forward to driving it!

A woman at work had a classic Mini while she lived in England. Hers bore the same color scheme as mine. She was a hard sell on the new generation, but I think she's warming to it now.

Best of luck with your ride!

First Fuel Refill

I got the orange light on (and the GONG) at about 390 miles, so I stopped at Shell for refuel. Total $46, and Shell is a bit more expensive than other gas stations (but it is 1st tier gas). Everyone at my work was when I told them about the gas mileage and the price for a new basic MINI. I wonder if I shoud take a referral.....

You're filling up your car already?!

I wish I understood this distribution center. How you had your car when I expected I'd be getting mine, and I STILL don't know for sure if mine's here, on a truck, or still at the VDC! MA told me yesterday it was on a truck and should have arrived yesterday, and would call to confirm, but haven't heard anything from him!

When trucks are going different places, why are cars not mostly loaded all within a day or two of each other (major work aside)???

Yup, it's been a week and I have about 75 miles commute Mon to Fri to go to work. On my G35 I used to fill up with Costco, but that is not the greatest gas out there. I plan on using Costco gas every now and then.

I can't get enough of that little White Pepper colored car

So what was your mileage for that first tank? Your thread says how much you spent, but not how many gallons you put in.

i pumped 12 gallons and drove about 400 miles. that should be something like 33.5 mpg and the computer I think it shows something like 34.5.

According with these figures I should be able to get approx 500 miles before I get to push...
