Meet MEPHISTO, and me...
Hello all,
Well, I did it about a week ago... actually 13 days 4 hours and 23 minutes ago, but who's counting. I put a deposit on a CR/CR MCS with the following options:
LSD
Anthracite headliner
Web spoke rims
sport susp.
Xenon
10 spkr audio
His name shall be Mephisto. I Photoshopped the vision I have for Mephisto to help me decide on styling cues. I'm planning to paint the stock black trim to match the body color, black out the grill surround, vinyl wrap the headlight rings in CR, and two white racing stripes over the length of the car. Finally, he'll need to be dropped (1.4" or so). Very excited to finally have ordered a MCS (my first new car you know). I have always been a fan of the classic Minis. I'm looking forward to ownership, and meeting fellow owners/enthusiasts.
Cheers

Thanks Red D,
Believe it or not, I struggled for some time on color choice, and after ordering, I stressed out as to whether or not I made the right choice
. I was also considering Laser Blue (it looks really nice). It was probably the most difficult choice to make on the car's configuration. I'm committed now, and I'm sure I'll love CR. Thanks again.

CafeRacer,
You'll find that chili red is the hottest and fastest colour in the MINIverse. Twas proven beyond the shadow of a doubt on a thread entitled "I have a dumb question..." in the Coupe Talk (2007+) Topic under Second Generation MINIs on the main forum page. I think dumb question thread is on the second page of Coupe Talk by now.
Twill make delightful reading if you look it up.
Your screen name is way cool. I love coffee, and sitting in a sidewalk cafe drinking that noble brew of the glorious bean.

Duuuuude.....Don't try that "red is the fastest, nah nah nah" thing here! Floggings can cross threads, yah know!
Congrats on the new addition! And welcome to the MINIverse. We're our own support group.

spfdhed,
I'm glad my "vision" has inspired you. Feel free to take any styling cues you like, no worries here. You're obviously a person of excellent taste, what with your CR/CR cooper S. Cheers,
Red Dragoon
I have to say you may be right. I did read on the "Official Chili Red Owners Club part deux" that CR does in fact add approx 15 mph to your top end. Not my words, it's in another post
.
I am also a coffee fiend or a "Coffiend" if you will. Especially a fan of the espresso...............mmmmmmmmmmyyyyyyuuuuuuuuuum mmmmmm. My screen name; though, is actually an homage to the "Rockers" of yester-year and their "cafe" styled motorcycles. The Ace Cafe in London was a common hang out for them in the '60s.
Muuusst have coffeeeeee.....

CafeRacer, you're perfect for MINI -- the over-caffeinated car on the roads, especially the chili reds which, notwithstanding flogging thread threats from our comrades in British racing green, are just slightly fleeter than the other colours.
And thanks for the Rocker info. I remember reading about fights between Mods and Rockers in the 60s.
