A lurker no more....consider me all in
Well I have finally placed my order after nearly a year of consideration. For some reason I feel the need to share with you all since it was the information I learned on this board which helped me make my final decision regarding the "you-ification".
2008 MCSa, Lightning Blue with White top + stripes.
Premium and Cold Weather packages, 16" Bridge Spokes, DSC, White Turn Signals, Anthracite Headliner, rear fogs, auto dimming mirror, english oak and wood sport wheel.
I need to get some way to transport a bicycle or 2 (still deciding on roof rack or addon hitch receiver). Roof rack = easier to install and is cheaper, hitch doesn't wreck the nice lines of the mini AND there is no risk of forgetting about the "toys on top"
I was trying to convince my wife to get a 2009 convertible but she's not a fan of convertibles so we went with the standard tin top. The sunroof is more than adequate at this point. I really tried to get her to go manual transmission, but she really hates manual as well. Alas, I'm sure that I'll get over it quickly. Oh wait, I'm over it. The autobox in this thing is not *that* bad and the turbo more than makes up for it. The convertible...well I'll just hold out for an old Alfa Romeo at some point in the distant future.
So consider me part of the crew!

Congratulations on the order jsargevt. Now for the hard part; but if you thought about the purchase for an year, waiting for 1-2 months shouldn't be too hard. I lasted two months (or maybe 3) before I ordered.
zonedguy - thanks for the gallery linkage - its nice to see the exterior choices on a real vehicle. I dig the sport stripes - they look great on your car. I also like seeing how the anthracite works with the Li Blue - a smart move on my part I think.
I am curious to see how the English oak looks with the anthracite. I love how wood can make a car look a bit classy - I'm hoping that is how it works in the Mini. All I know is that the standard checker-silver thing doesn't appeal to me. My second choice was brushed aluminum but that seemed too much in the "industrial" zone for me. We'll see how it turns out when I pick 'er up!

DChap and ngweibing - Ehhh a few weeks is nothing considering that I've been waiting for about a year to order. I figure that this will give me some time to sell my Saturn VUE privately before taking delivery. Anyone in the market for a reasonably good MPG SUV in the NH area? :-)
krim - I would love to see what the LiB/W & EO looks like on your vehicle when you take delivery. I am also interested in the "ghost Viper stripes" you mention. That is a new one to me...
Thanks all!

congrats on the order. Be sure to track your baby using the info from the "how to track your MINI" thread. On the bike thing, you have a number of options on the hidden hitch so time to do some research as to what you'd like. That'll help pass the time while waiting.
mysticturner - thanks for the suggestion - I have already plugged into the OL site - and we're "awaiting production" and I'll probably call the automated system sometime this afternoon as well.
Yeah I go back and forth on the hitch vs. roof rack. Roof rack is good because I can also haul kayaks and put a container on top if I really wanted to. Hitch looks better and I can probably fashion up a simple kayak rack trailer for cheap. Something more to think about I suppose!
