How to Track your MINI: Revised, Expanded and Updated
Thank you for the information. Help me allot. I found my MCS on the high seas right now. ETA 3/16/11 I have never owned a Mini, and have never built a car either. Just hope there are no boo boo's on the way. I am only wondering what tires they have put on. The dealer said they may switch them out for me if they are not what I want. I am looking either for Conti or Pirelli's. Any thoughts? Thx Newbie
I talked to someone other than just the automated service and she didn't have any more info for me.
If you're calling the 1-866-ASK-MINI number then you're calling the right one. All mine says is that it's "in production," too and is estimated to be completed by March 8. But the owners lounge site says that mine is "scheduled for production," so I don't know whether it's actually "in production" or "scheduled for production???"

NAMers, thanks for you continued attention to this process. I believe I've captured all of the updated information you've provided and posted them as updates to the original posting.
Best of luck on continuing to track your MINIs!

I too was frustrated by the generic production status messages from Ask-Mini but I found that a few days before the estimated completion date it started saying things like "it's in the body shop", "it's in the paint shop", etc. I think once they really start working on it you get more detailed info. and if you call every 15 minutes you could probably track it through nearly every stage of the process. Even I'm not that anxious though.
Now it's waiting to be transported to Bremerhaven and put on a ship. Unfortunately, at this point I don't think there's much info available until it actually gets assigned/loaded on a ship. I'm searching backward through this thread but I think I'm in limbo until the shipping company gets it into their system. Hopefully I get lucky and it's on the ship leaving Bremerhaven for NYC this Friday.

Maybe I'm just doing this wrong but my MA confirmed for me that my CM is on the MIGNON that left on 3/10 and due to arrive in NY on 3/24. I have not been able to find it via the cargo tracker or even track the ship itself! checked all the sites listed on page 1 of this post and nothing. Anything I'm missing?

oonemesisoo has a Countryman. They are made in Austria, which means the Mignon left Bremerhaven on the 10th and left Southampton today, on its way Canada before it comes to New York and on wards.

Anyone who has ordered an MCS in mid-March 2011: What is your production number? (Please convert the last 3 digits to XXX if you don't want to fully disclose.) Do you have a build date yet?
you still have some waiting it takes on average 2 weeks to go into production
Production number 6640240! Build was completed on St. Patty's day. Paint shop. Now waiting on a boat.

:)
Ordered my Countryman on 2/14 and its set to arrive this thursday (3/24) at the new york port!! I'd say that was a decent pace! Now i can only hope I can pick her up before the weekend is over, I know its a long shot but one can hope!
TomLINY - My BRG II was also finished on the 18th so they were probably in the paint shop together. I'm also waiting for a boat. I was hoping to make the boat that left on the 20th, but it was not to be. I guess our cars will be cooling their tires on the docks for another few days. Let me know if you find out what boat you're on.

All aboard the Mignon
