Week 23 2008 Support Group
Hey everyone... sorry I've been MIA, but I was studying for the bar, taking the bar, PASSING the bar (WOOHOO) and looking for work.
Ollie's got a little over 3000 miles on him, and two track days under his belt. He's got an extra set of black track wheels, a JCW black-out grill, and a custom made Magnaflow cat-back (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foWbAzFBT9w) YEE-HAW!!!!

More importantly, though, how YOU doin' out there?

I had my first "cold start clatter" occur yesterday after not driving my MINI for 3 days over the weekend. Let me tell you, if not for NAM, I'd have been seriously concerned about that horrendous noise it made! I truthfully still am, but I knew exactly what was happening the minute I hit the button, so I suppose everything is gonna be okay for now. Scary though!
We're going to Planes of Fame later this month.

4600 or so miles, getting ready for my second oil change. The interval will be 3500 miles at 5000 miles. I am planning on doing 5k intervals like my other car but we'll see if oil analysis says it should be longer.
Happy Thanksgiving Gemgirl and to everyone!
Watch out for all those turkey's on the road, It will be very hard to get all those feathers out of your grill!!
YsIFit , CONGRATS on passing the bar! That's a nice sounding exhaust. Since i can't justify getting the Stage 1 package, i think ill just settle for a custom exhaust. I think that'll hold me over until finances are more definite.
My company's parent company filed Chapter 11 yesterday, but "we aren't affected". I'm still employed, but our 401k's been cut and they stopped the severence packages. Oh well.. it's tough out there and i'm still pretty thankful.
I had this weird instance last week, the key in slot bong wouldn't shut off after i started the engine. I even shut her down got out of the car, armed the alarm. I could still hear the bong inside the car. Well, i was late to work, so i just drove with it all the way to work. It finally stopped after i cycled the car and armed the alarm a few times. It was starting to drive me craze after about 10 miles..

Hi everyone!
Working a quick shift here at the auto hobby shop, and got my internet turned on at this desk, so I am able to be online (at least for today)
Hope everyone is holding on tight. We're sorta in a bubble over here in Europe, we watch the news, but going back and re-reading your posts about lay-offs and bankruptcy and the craziness in the economy has me scared for good job prospects in San Diego. Keep thinking positively, eh? And, polish the old resume.
We've been without Mystique for nearly a week, feel so bad! She went via car carrier to Germany, to be loaded into a steel shipping container, headed for Navy's equivalent of the Vehicle Processing Center in Georgia. Then, car carrier to San Diego. Pray for smooth oceans in late November-all of December will ya? (haha...33 foot waves, anyone?)
She's got maritime insurance on her via USAA.
Still dreaming of our house in Chula Vista. Still dreading being apart from my honey for nearly 3 months, but escrow waits for nobody. Better to be onsite!
Take care all, active posters and lurkers alike. See you in America!
Post more the next time I get access to the internet.

HELLO WEEK 23ers!!! Hope all is well and everyone had a happy holiday. Sneaker has over 6500 miles on him and runs like a top! Even doing some autocrossing! By the way, autocrossing is an ABSOLUTE BLAST. I highly reccomend it if you have not done it before! I was wondering if any week 23ers are planning on attending MOTD this year. My wife and I will be there and would love to meet some of you guys and gals! On a side note, we enjoyed my Mini so much that we bought her one. She got a Clubman S. Take care and if you come to Deals Gap, lets have a beer!
wow that is fantastic, you are now a 2 mini family??
I have been trying to talk my husband into getting a clubman. He is always looking at them and he enjoys being able to drive Nugget when he gets the chance! He needs a little more time, but really enjoys talking to others about her (like she is his, haha).
i just ordered my alta intake last night, saved 10% for holiday sales. I don't know when it will arrive, but i'll let you all know when UPS sends me confirmation. Would anyone like before and after sound clips?
I ordered the CAI and the turbo inlet tubes, including shipping it was $364.

Just passing 7000 miles... everyone post some stats on your odometers - let's see who's really been motoring!
5097, ill break 6k by the end of the month. I haven't been motoring as much, and all my canyon runs are w/in 10 miles of my house and less than 50 miles round trip.
Since gas is cheaper now, i might take a longer trip up PCH to take photos of all 7 major waterfalls. Then again, i might not if i don't have a job. lol
that 10% off TSW is even more tempting.. i've been wanting to lower Yuko since forever.
[mutters to self]
can't spend... can't spend

6400+ on Nugget currently, this has slowed down since I'm not making the hour long drive one way to "work" anymore!
She is still so much fun to drive! I took my cousin out yesterday, this being his first time in my car, he loved it and begged me to drive.

only 2,100 miles.... I only have a 5 mile drive for work.... and have been traveling a lot for work and pleasure, so no driving :( I have unfortunately missed all the local club events because I have been out of town somewhere :( but every mile has been amazing!!! I have taken a few in-state outings like to the the top of the Sandia mountain with a somewhat twisty road....and up to Santa Fe... but even those are not far. He is doomed to be a low mileage car!
so i hadn't received any info regarding my intake from UPS as of yesterday afternoon (2 whole days since ordering it) so I sent out an email to Alta. Within an hour I had a reply confirming that the intake had been ordered successfully and that it would ship out later that day. An hour after that, I get an email from UPS saying it was on the way.... should be here the 9th.
maybe i should post sound bites of my DDM Street.. but then again, i dont want to get into a pssing match with anyone.
*rimshot*
thank you, thank you.. ill be here all night folks. remember to tip the bartender.

funny funny, i guess you could say that your joke blows haha.
So I got a call from Alta last night, despite the order being processed and going smoothly, it appears the turbo inlet tube is on back order for 3-4 weeks. I will get my intake the 9th, install it, then when i get the inlet tube I will install that.
