On the positive side, I got my first wave on the way down to Penn Yan today. I of course waved back...it was a mutual thing. For those of you from the area...you know how nice of a ride it is from here down that way. I LOVE this car!

Thanks, mysticturner's wife! Welcome to the fold. We're still waiting to see pics of Bimini...I guess you guys are spending all your time on the road! (Can't blame you one bit for that...)

 

Actually I'm (mysticturner) trying to get Bimini into her suit of armor - a good solid fresh coat of Zaino! Once I get that all done, I'll take pics. So far I've stripped off the dealer wax and applied the wheel protection stuff against the ever present brake dust. I'd better finish doing the whole zaino thing today. And I gotta do the wife's car as well. I can't have Tinkerbell getting jealous because Bimini is getting all the attention.

 

MINITrekkie - Are you still lost? Did JD remember to turn off the cloaking device you had installed? MoD is open today. I think you should swing by and harrass them in person.

No word, do you remember that picture from the roof of the building on the dock in Southhampton, well I think that was JD sending that "SOS". I might not see him until next week So, I'll let you know if I get a distress signal from JD

 

MINI Owners' Lounge is telling me that my car is "At Your MINI Dealer". The last time I spoke with my MA was this past Friday, and he said that the car would be there soon but no definite date yet. I'm thinking my car probably arrived at the dealership this weekend, but with the holiday and my MA being off on Tuesdays, I will not be getting a call until Wednesday at the earliest. How am I going to sleep knowing that my car is so close and yet so far . Nearly there...nearly there...

 

My Clubman S is at the dealer - just got the call .

Got to wait until tomorrow for pickup after work grrr.

 

Weather's nice here in Dallas. I think I'm gonna go drive down to the golf course and take Bimini's picture.

 

Thanks! I've been loving every moment I'm behind the wheel. Anyway, I posted these pictured inline by viewing the pictures in the gallery and viewing the image properties to get the URL. I then use the Insert Image function in the post editor and them paste in the URL I copied from the gallery.

1st off let me say CONGRATULATIONS to all of you who have received your new Minis!!!! The pictures are fantastic and I'm sure you're smiling with every mile driven!!

RANT ON....

Amazingly enough, I called MOTW and spoke directly with my MA on Saturday!! I say AMAZINGLY as I've called many, many times leaving voice messages and emailed many times as well with no response. I simply wanted to know the out-the-door price of my Mini so I could notify PenFed to send the loan check. The MA said he would email me the invoice with TTL and all related costs to forward to PenFed. RIGGHHHTT!!!

I was told by him my Mini was STILL "enroute" and that MOTW did not call buyers to let them know their Mini's had arrived since it put tremendous pressure on the dealership to get their client's Mini's prepped for pick up.

So, I checked with the Mini Owner's Lounge and found that my Mini WAS at the dealership on Saturday!

Today, Veteran's Day (Thank God for Veterans!!!!!), I received a call from MOTW at 1245 saying my Mini was prepped and ready for pick up but MOTW closed at 1400. I called my MA's direct line and received his voice mail. I emailed him and called the main number asking that they page him directly to let him know I was on the phone. I was put through to and again received his voice mail. I called and asked to speak with the sales manager and was advised he was at his desk. I received his voice mail as well.

To say that I'm a bit frustrated and tight-jawed would be somewhat of an understatement.

So, I wrote the sales manager an email cc'ing it to the MA stating my concerns about the manner in which their dealership does business and the way MOTW treats it's customers.

I'm sure it will do little good.

Mysticturner , Congrats on your new Mini . The checker mirror caps look really nice with the dark green !

 

On the "Like Your Driveway", our neighborhood has a golf course running through the middle of it. Attached to the golf club is a golf school. That's what you see in the background and I think it's the 10th hole back at the treeline. The picture we use of my wife's MINI, Tinkerbell, shows Tink on the entrance to the golf cart path for the 'test' green next to the maint shed. Wife was napping when I went over to take the pics last night. Next time I detail out the babies, I'll get her to drive over with me and take a doubles shot. Gonna have to figure out how to position them in the sunlight for the best picture.

 

Bimini looks real fine!! All decked out in his "checks" That not BRG, that "ENVY GREEN" I'll see Bimini at HH tonight if work doesn't get in the way.
