Got my PENTFCU approval today. Waiting for a call back from my MA (I call him the sales nerd) to 1) see where my Mini is and 2) find out what the bottom line will be. Anxious and excited!!!!

Sweet! There was a bit of a holdup on mine...I got married last year and legally changed my name, but some DoD system somewhere still pulls up my old name. It's lots of fun when it pops up. But I got that straightened out with PenFed, so everything should be good to go now.

You should get a referral bonus from PenFed.

Maybe they are waiting for enough cars to fill a truck to drive up to WNY.

That's really crazy mntcooper! Where does your MA or the OL say your MINI is? Is it just unloaded from the Fidelio and sitting there, or is it stuck in the VPC?

They are trying to determine what is happening. The status they have is that it is at the VPC and still waiting to be processed. Very fustrating .

Maybe the VPC in NY is really backed up. That would explain why I was scheduled as Charleston as my port of destination, even though my ship went to NY and ported. (There seemed to have been a lot of BMW's also on my ship, and I think they are give precedence of MINI's)

Hopefully everything is ok with your MINI and you haven't been at the VPC all that time because of a problem (Not to be negative, but two weeks seems like eternity) Did you have any options that they install at the VPC? Maybe that's the hold up, and they have a part in backorder?

This doesn't make sense though...I thought I saw some people got their MINI's 6-7 days after the ship hit port.

Very confusing to me also. Several ships have come in after the Fidelio and the my fellow ship mates Marie707 and dez have already picked theirs up. Also see that Patriot people are starting to pick their up as well.

There are no options the VPC is installing. It just seems to be lost. I hope it was not damaged and they are trying to repair it

Yes it does feel like eternity, since I was planning on picking it up last weekend and got rid of my old car.

They said if I referred 65,000 of my closest friends they'd see about buying me a MINI!

I'm sorry mntcooper, getting rid of your old car amplifies how bad that just stinks! I hope it all works out, and the dealership calls you soon to let you know you can come pick it up!

I already promised to give my current car to my sis-in-law this Friday. She paid for it like two weeks ago. I figured last week of May should be enough time. I hope I'm right or I'm ***** out of luck.

Maybe she can lease it back to you for a while. "With 2 % interest" per day, while your waiting for your MINI. Hope you get it real soon.

Well, deduct one from your referral tally...I called the Mini Finance guy and left a voicemail this morning to say "Thanks but no thanks". What do you know, but I get a phone call from him this afternoon saying "Guess what! I made some calls and threw in a dealer discount card and got you a 4.24% rate". I almost told him "too little too late", but I didn't...so I cancelled my loan with PenFed and saved myself the FedEx fee. I still owe you a big HIGH FIVE for tipping me off to a better rate to bargain with.

In other news, I heard from my MA...he said that my Clubman is loaded on a truck. He said the truck had to fill up before it departed, and there's no way of knowing if the truck it will come to Charleston first, middle or last...but I'm one step closer! We've tentatively set things up for me to pick it up Friday afternoon. If not, it will be Saturday or Tuesday.

I know how you feel, I was born there. Buses, trains. I used to park my car, and use it only on the weekend or when I drove to Virginia Beach for the Memorial Day weekend every year. I use my car more out of New York then in.

Brought Home Today

Hi All ,

Picked up my Mini today . Had a blast driving it home from the dealer.
It is one great ride. Really like how the car handles . Was trying to take it easy but it rides so nice . You look over at the giant speedo and you are over 70 mph . These MInis are one Sweet Ride.

Took some pictures will post some up later.

Got to spend some time reading all the manuals. My Ma went over everything , but I was just sitting thinking about driving the car. Not paying all that much attention to what she was telling me. But it sounds like you can store allot of your personal settings in the computer. lol :g rin::gri n:

Hope you all get yours soon too !

Bimini has made the journey! Apparently a beer truck drove by Mini of Dallas and unloaded Bimini! Hey, MINITrekkie, have you heard about your baby yet? My MA says that it will probably be ready Friday, so we're trying to schedule up a Friday afternoon delivery appt.

And one more thing - not a good thing. I had ordered the checker door handles. They are installed by either the dealer or (as in my case) the owner. Well Bimini has the comfort access system. No can do the checker handles. They don't make them yet with the extra hole for the access button. BUMMER. Someone will eventually make them. So I'll have to wait on that.

I can't imagine what the hold up is....I am so sorry! Perhaps they are waiting to fill a truck to go up to your dealer?
