Speaking of almost over, where's your Molly? Any word on Trianon's whereabouts?

Me, too. I hope my MINI can push back from the buffet occasionally.

Looks like my MA knew what she was talking about last week when she said that now we were probably looking at a mid-April delivery out here on the plains.

Hey, have any of you checked out the AIS site today? Wanted to start looking for the Independence to pull into Southampton, BUT, I get no ship data on that site today. Don't know if it's my computer or the site is down or what ...

Just checked out Independence II on WW site. My VIN has an asterisk by it, which apparently means that "Cargo is in Waitlist Status," which sounds, well, less than ideal....

It looks as if I will probably have to update my signature.

Molly and the TRIANON should have docked in NY yesterday and leaving today for the Panama Canal next Weekend. She will dock @ Port Hueneme, CA on Monday, April 7th. Hopefully I am looking at 21 days 'til Delivery (April 14th).

Vinnie, I hope we'll all be shipmates. Keep us posted.

Meanwhile, I checked out www.shipais.com and www.vesseltracker.com. If what I'm looking at IS correct, Independence II is running a day behind schedule. It appears to have moved from Antwerp to Zeebrugge today, which means it will be 3/25 into Southampton at the earliest.

I also saw what appeared to be Madame Butterfly still in port at Southhampton. She should have left yest. (3/23), according to that thread.

Guessing they're still behind from the bad weather earlier this month?

I hope so, too.

When I check on the the WW site, it shows the Independence II as having departed Southhampton today as scheduled. I hope I'm reading it wrong, but Southhampton is shown in red, indicating that the ship has sailed.

This site suggests that there has been a delay in the arrival of the Independence II at Southampton (contrary to the WW site, which indicates that it has already departed).

Must resist low grade OCD tendencies....

OK. This latest info jibes with what I'm seeing. If the ship is at Zeebrugge, then when it leaves tomorrow and gets closer to Dover, we'll be able to track it real time into Southampton. This wait is a killer, but it's half over now ...

The WW site is now consistent with this, showing departure from Southampton 26 March 2008.

Now if I could just do something about that waitlist asterisk....

Hey, y'all--

Just checked www.shipais.com, and the Independence II is at the Isle of Wight, making her way toward Southampton ...

Not being a sailor (little navigable water out here), is "moored" necessarily a bad thing?

Moored means that it's attached to something. Not really moving.

As long as it gets to Southampton in time to unload and reload before the scheduled departure tomorrow at 1800 (and they manage to get my waitlisted MINI on), a little mooring seems manageable. Is it possible that the site is just a little loose with terminology and it is actually docked at Southampton?

It actually is showing progress towards Southampton now.

vinnie-where are you looking to see that your MINI is waitlisted? All I see for my MINI is that it was received and booked, nothing further.

There are probably more efficient ways to get there, but here's what I've done.

If you search on the WW site using your VIN, a booking number also comes up with the results. You can use that to search by booking number, which will get you to a lengthy list of VINs. Find yours and click on it; you should get some further details about your vehicle. You really don't need to click on it; if it has an asterisk at the end of the VIN, that means waitlisted cargo. I can only assume that means something like flying standby, which probably (but I know nothing about logistics, much less shipping logistics) depends on room on the ship.

Maybe someone more technically adept than I am can give us a clearer picture of how to track our MINIs? I've really just been improvising off of the "How to track your MINI" sticky.

Who knows -- maybe they ask if anyone wants to wait for a later ship in exchange for two free tickets to anywhere WW sails...?

Seriously, this is nervewracking. I didn't really realize how anxious I was to get my MINI until it was built. Maybe if I just stay off of NAM for a while I could settle down.
