Ah, yes, but we CAN'T resist ... No matter how hard we try. I've got this page and shipais site up on autorefresh every 10 minutes or so ...

Mine doesn't have an asterisk by it, but I did see on that list that a lot of asterisks have been removed, and I am seeing more "Returned to shipper" notes. At least, none of us have gotten bumped, yet.

NFR, do you see that Madame Butterfly is still showing up at Southampton? Maybe something's wrong there, and that's why we're getting shuffled around.

Yeah, she's still there. The Independence II is making ~15 knots and heading for Southampton now.

The Independence II is now showing on the Southampton map. Looks like a tug is out there to greet it.

I am sooo jealous vinnieKC... good to hear you got on board!

CarolinaCooper, just make sure your graphic height is no greater than 100 and the width is no greater than 500 or the forum will downsize it for you and undoubtedly make it look funky. It appears you have some white on the right as well as though you lost the transparency of the image.

Boostednorm, Thanks for the graphics help. I did it in Paint and thought it met the file size requirements. I'll work on it some more, and maybe I can fix it.

Sorry for adding a little more salt in the wound, but my MINI status shows "loaded" as well. Has your status changed? What does it state now?

BTW, just went out to shipais.com. No data for Southampton and the English Channel areas. I wanted to track the ships in and out of harbor today, esp. Independence. Hoping it will come back up later ... Does anyone know whether it has left port?

According to this, it's scheduled to depart today at 1800 (I assume local time in the UK). http://www.southamptonvts.co.uk/shipping_movments.asp

Sorry to hear about the continued Stella wait.

The Independence II is now set to depart at 2000, two hours later than before.

GemsCoop: Hate to hear that! Please keep us posted on Stella ... We'd be glad to track her voyage with you. Hopefully, you won't be too far behind.

NFR: Glad you made it aboard! Looks like we'll be leaving under the cover of darkness ... Good thing, too, or the Madame Butterfly MINIs might try to sink us ...

ShipAIS shows the Independence II as "Underway." If we're on it, then we're apparently on our way to NY a few minutes early.

Until we can get a position on her, here's a pic (attached) to keep this thread moving along:

Looks safe enough, I suppose.

My MA tells me that we're looking at April 9 at Charleston, which means the following week for delivery out here on the plains.

I suppose we can take a little hiatus now until we can get a fix on the ship again. How close does it need to be to the East Coast of the US before we can get good information again?

I'm hoping she'll report he position/weather somewhere along the way. If so, she'll show up at www.sailwx.info. Some ships are reporting every 12 hours once they're out to sea ...

Port of Charleston still has the Independence II docking on 6 April 2008.

I'm not really trusting the Charleston port site. The shipper's schedule has changed a couple of times (http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppSchedules/):

SOUTHAMPTON UNITED KINGDOM 25/03/2008 26/03/2008 NEW YORK, NY U.S.A. 04/04/2008 04/04/2008 BALTIMORE, MD U.S.A. 06/04/2008 07/04/2008 CHARLESTON,SC U.S.A. 09/04/2008 09/04/2008 BRUNSWICK, GA U.S.A. 10/04/2008 10/04/2008Still nothing on the www.sailwx.info site. Don't think this ship reports ... Last time I talked to my MA, she had it down for 4/8. Now it states 4/9 ...

OK, Am I crazy? Probably. Am I imagining things? I don't know. I just checked the Charleston port schedule, and Independence is no longer showing up. I looked at the list 3 times, but did not see it.

So, I Went to the W&W site to check the ships schedule: http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppSche...esselSearch.do

I entered the ship name, 3 times, again. No return data at all. I checked for Madame Butterfly to make sure it wasn't the site. I got a schedule for her, but not for Independence II ....

Has anyone else checked? I'm sure it's nothing, but it's almost as if the ship has disappeared ....
