Has anyone else checked? I'm sure it's nothing, but it's almost as if the ship has disappeared ....
You're not crazy -- it's gone.

The WW site shows a further delay to Charleston, but it's only another day.

Odd (and I hope not catastrophic).

Someone needs to start monitoring the NY Harbor on AIS. The ship is scheduled to be there late this week. Here's a link:

Are we all perhaps just a little too excited about these cars...?

Naaa.

Whew! It's back on the Charleston port list. Hmm. That one's still showing 4/9 vs. 4/10.

Vinnie, thanks for the AIS link. I tried to register, but it threw me to another site, and there it kept locking up ... I can see through the link you sent tho, and click around to refresh to different screens. Have you figured out how to zoom out and zoom in on this site?

I had some problems finding it on W&W yesterday (don't know why...)

It's not near the Bermuda triangle is it ?

Ha! Yeah, when I saw it missing from both sites, I actually when out and googled the name of the ship and scanned for headlines! "Independence II sunk in freak maritime accident ..."

Murphy's Law thing, ya know ... Contributes to my paranoia.

Good to know all is well. Thanks for the dose of sanity; I needed it!

I haven't figured it out (haven't really tried yet). It did let me register, but then I couldn't go through the site to get where I needed/wanted to go. Fortunately, in doing the same sort of "Independence II" Google search you've described, I stumbled on a BMW board -- they're on the same ship -- that had the link I posted here.

Glad to know that Charleston still expects us.

Try this link.

http://aisfree.aislive.com/Influx.as...%20Coast%20USA

I figured out how to move around a little. To move click on any enclosed red boxed area and that will be zoomed in.

Good luck.

Worked brilliantly. Thanks.

Now if the right ship would just get in range....

Anyone scoping out the harbor tomorrow?

Latest data shows Independence II coming into NY Sat, 4/5. I'll be out of pocket until later that afternoon, but will check when I can. Have no clue why this is necessary, but my OC side nudges me to do so ....

Anyone else who shares this compulsion, please jump in!

So, are they unloading in NY? Is there a VDC there or will they go through Greenville, SC

I really don't know. I DO know that there are some large dealers in the NY state area. Mini of the Hamptons, I seem to recall, being one. Also, there is some huge auto distribution area in Maryland (hence Baltimore being a stop).

The BMW plant in Greer, SC, produces the Z model and, I think, they're adding the SUV there? Big plant; I've toured it, but before the 2nd gen. MINI. That's why so many come through there, I guess.

Anyway, Independence II is still docked as of now. I'll be running errands today, but will try to keep an eye out ...

BMiniW08, funny you mentioned "beer." I've been trying to come up with a name for my MINI ... Have several in mind, and just yest., thought of "Skittles" ... as in, skittles and beer. Not completely setteld on it, yet, tho.

my order sheet has Port Loc: NYCPOA. Oh and Trans Flag: T, so I assume that means it's shipping to the dealer via truck.

Wow! So your baby's off the ship? Excellent! For those farther down the line, our ship is making its way toward MD now ...

When will this voyage end?

The WW website says that the Independence II has left Baltimore and will get to Charleston on Thursday. The Port of Charleston says that it is expected there tomorrow. Although either keeps me on track to take delivery next week as my MA in Kansas (Say, did you see that basketball game last night?) predicted several weeks ago, it would be nice to know when it docks. Any ideas about how we can know, short of calling our MAs relentlessly?

Here's the latest image:

I'll be checking tom. and will try to track her. Kansas, ya say? YES, I caught the tail end of it. Congrats! Actually, I am glad they beat Memphis, as it is some redemption for my alma mater, UNC, after Kansas beat the Tarheels Sat. night. Kansas earned it!

My MA just confirmed that babies going through the Greer, SC, VDC will be taken up from Charleston by truck, not rail. So, I won't be stalking the local railroads ....

My MA just sent me an e-mail saying that my MINI will be reaching Charleston tomorrow, which is, of course, wrong. I hope she is more precise in other parts of her job, or my delivery experience might be a little less than optimal.

Took deliver of my Clubman last night. I hated to trade in my 2006 Pepper White MINI, but absolutely love the Clubman. The ride is smooth, the features are extraordinary and the clutch appears to be improved.

Only thing I don't really care for is the bar that's used to move the front seats - why can't they install electronic controls for the seats?

My MA indicated that all new Clubman orders are backlogged 4-6 MONTHS! Glad we got ours now!
