Mercedes owner switching to 2005 MCS tomorrow!

Hey there everyone. Just wanted to introduce myself and say I'm incredibly stoked to be picking up my MCS tomorrow morning. Just traded in my 99 Mercedes E320. Was a very active member on PointedThree.org as well as www.BenzWorld.org, and look forward to learning and posting here.

My plan is to start doing a few modifications to the new ride within a month or so. First, I want to get a good feel for what the car has to offer. But then, intake/exhaust, pulley, ECU, intercooler, etc... Any advice, since this is my first Cooper would be appreciated.

Welcome to NAM and congrats on the MINI. 2005 is a very good year!

I'm sure the Benz forums had lots of loyal members, but something tells me that you'll be amused, educated, and entertained by the fanatacism of the MINI faithful here. On the whole, quite the free-spirited and extroverted crowd, they are.

Yes, yes -- by all means get your MINI out on the twisties first. The addiction begins...and there's no return.

Thanks! Sounds exactly what I'm looking for. Good tips and recommendations, plus some lively conversation. I've already noticed the loyalty amongst MINI owners, via numerous websites, clubs, and blogs.

Needless to say, tonight will be an incredibly long night waiting for tomorrow morning to take possession. I'm like a friggin kid on Christmas eve!

No kidding. Great minds think alike! Good looking w124. My '99 w210 was just about to cost me $4k in service. But, the MINI dealer also owns an MB Dealership, so they can do the service cheap and gave me a good trade value. Between that, the fact it cost an arm and a leg to keep fueling up twice a week, and I was bored with it, the MCS was the way to go for me!

So far, in two days, 325 miles driving, primarily recreational. This car is great. I can't stop thinking about it, and am eagerly awaiting beginning the modification & tuning process.

Just wait till you get the pulley and CAI...You'll be making up excuses to take it for a ride. The supercharger whine will be like a drug...the more you hear it the more you'll want it ......Welcome to the world of an empty wallet
