Just Ordered!

We just came home from ordering a 6 Speed, '08 MINI Cooper in Mellow Yellow with a Black Roof. She will have Xenon headlights, DSC, Winter Package, Standard Leatherette, Multifunction Steering Wheel, Rotator Wheels, and Rubber Floor and Boot Mats.

We had a pleasant surprise. We didn't want fog lights and I thought we'd have to live with empty holes where the lights should be. It turns out there are parking lights in there on the '08's, which we noticed on an '08 in the showroom. Hopefully ours will have them as well.

We're very psyched and are going to track it as soon as we get a production number.

You must be really psyched! It really seems to move along pretty quickly.

Thanks! I'm sure it'll be over before I know it. It's fun tracking the progress.

The picture in your sig is very cute.

Regarding fog lights... I didn't get them either, because I was trying to keep costs down. My MA said that it still looks like there's lights in there, even though there's not. He showed me a car without the fog lights, and it looked the same as the cars with the fog lights. I guess they just don't work? Anyway, it made me feel a lot better about not getting the fog lights.

It looks like your car (and timeline) is pretty similar to mine, except different.

That's an awesome color combo. I haven't order mine yet but I have been thinking about the MY/B combo myself too! (prob b/c its the color of GaTech Mascot! )
I can't wait to order mine. I think I will finally go test drive one this weekend!

Congratulations on the order, nice set of specs.

Pictures after you get over the wait, have fun tracking.

What do the Rotator Wheels look like on the 08? It has been a long time since I messed with the MINI configurations.

The reason we went with Yellow is that we've had a Yellow Beetle TDI since 2000, putting 213,000 miles on it. It's still running strong, but we've decided to replace it. I really have mixed feelings about it because it's been a faithful partner all these years and it still has plenty of life left. I hope I can find a nice home for her, but I know it won't be easy. Anyway, our new MINI will have personality like my Beetle and a similar color (yellow is a safe color, btw). The black roof will add to its personality.

As far as the fog lights go, the MA found a new Cooper on the floor with no foglights and he lit them up-they are parking lights! They do look like fog lights cosmetically when not lit.

I've been reading the Owner's Manual I downloaded from the Owners Lounge. It's for a 2007, but it has to be close. Increasing anticipation...
