All Aboard! Asian Emperor departing Feb 5

Unless they decide to change my itinerary again, my Mini will be on this ship. I found a very neat site which shows the ship in real time without having to logon. Check it out:
http://www.shipais.com/showship.php?mmsi=357481000

I believe it will only show within UK waters....

Any West Coaster's taking the ride on this ship? My cargo status shows that I'm supposed to be but still only shows received at terminal...I hope they decide to load my Mini before this ship sets sail....

Yes, our "Wanda" is also listed as being on the Asian Emperor with departure scheduled for today. It appears they will be in good company as this ship carries 6,400 vehicles!

After showing my VIN on Aida since Friday, my car is now showing as received and booked on the Asian Emperor.

I take it the Asian Emperor has a presence out on the seas that these other boats only dream of. Other boats move out of the Emperor's way, wisely.

The Asian Emperor was supposed to set sail on Feb 5. It's now midday Feb 6th and its still moored in Southampton. Is this typical?

Also, the my chagrin, my Mini is still in port waiting to be loaded. Is anybody else out there that is supposed to be loaded on this vessel but still has a cargo status of "received at terminal?"

Yes, we are in the same boat (so-to-speak).

We are listed on the manifest for the Asian Emperor so it's likely we'll be on that ship.

The Asian Emperor just arrived in Southampton on Monday and it has got to take a while to load 6,400 autos. Maybe our information was incorrect as to the sailing date.....?

We are aboard with you all headed to the west coast. No worries about the sailing date as it will get on it's way shortly. I remember that the dates were more guidelines than they were swiss train schedules.

Carrying 6,400 is big - but remember that this voyage began up in Sweden (picking up Volvos and Saabs), headed to Germany (where I am certain that it picked up a bunch of BMW's) and is now in the UK grabbing our MINIs and some Jags and Rovers - maybe even a RR or two. Then we are on our way - basically non-stop to CA!

Hopefully we'll get delivery the first week of March or so! Best,

Does your cargo status still say "received at terminal" or has it changed? Is your Booking Number GBSOU601804 too?

Arrrgh!

actually ours now shows that it is in "waitlist" status - must be a full ship. But come now, MINI's aren't that big - pack them in!

If we miss this one we may be looking at the Turandot departing on 2/11.

According to the link below, the Asian Emperor has already set sail from Southampton, as that destination, along with its previous stops, is colour coded red.

http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTrac...CargoSearch.do

Where did you see that your car has been wait listed? Is that after you type in the VIN to track your cargo?

Agreed, but it's just not all that accurate from what I can see. I understand where the "red" color indicates that it has left port, but this site still shows them in the UK:
http://www.shipais.com/showship.php?mmsi=357481000

Entering our VIN in the roro tracking indicates that it is booked and received at the terminal, but based upon Jeremy's post with the Booking No. (track by booking number) when i scroll through the entire manifest and find our VIN and then click on it there is an asterik indicating "waitlist".

So my best guess at this point is that we "may" get on the ship or maybe are on-board or maybe will be on the dock watching them sail. Who knows? Maybe there will be more info tomorrow?

I just went through the Booking Number search and my VIN has the asterisk identifying it in the waitlist category.

When did your car finish production?

Mine finished production Feb 1. It showed making it to the port on Feb 3. Yours?

Also, my bet is that we'll, unfortunately, be on next week's boat. I called ASK-MINI and the service rep said that it "typically" takes about a week to get on the boat once at Southampton. We'll see if we are typical or "special."

That is too bad. My condolences. I'm thinking that my MINI may be keeping yours company in the quaint coastal town of Southampton.

What makes you sure that your MINI is sitting this one out? Did your MA confirm it for you?

I checked the booking number and my VIN shows as loaded on vessel, so I have reason to believe that my MINI has left Southampton.

I think my MINI missed the boat. Suppose to be on Asian Emperor, but the status says it is in "waitlist category". Guess what? Asian Emperor already left Southhampton. It looks like next ride is Turandot. Ugh....another week delay.

I missed the boat too! They just updated my ship to the TURANDOT which leaves on Feb 11th. Hopefully, we get on this time.

I'll start the new All Aboard thread now... Argh.

You'll have some friends on the Turandot. We missed the AE as well.

I am new to the group, having found out just today from my dealer that my Miss Gracie is on the Asian Emperor. How did folks on this post find out in advance the name of the ship your Mini was to be shipped on? Also, is there a way to track the location of the Asian Emperor between UK waters and the Panama Canal? Thanks for any information you can provide to a newbie!

Thanks, VintageMac!
That really pulls it all together for me. Wish I had known some of it earlier. I just now checked on Miss Gracie in the Owners' Lounge, and she is still listed as Awaiting Transport--but I know she is sailing home on the Asian Emperor. She's my first Mini, and I can hardly wait.

Is anyone here besides me still on the Asian Emperor?

Anyone know how the old lady is doing?
