I'm on the Asian Emperor. No idea what progress she is making, though...

Our O2B Cooper is onboard. The BMW folks are tracking the ship too and they have some good info: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112549

Hi Friends,
Just downloaded the Enhanced Vessel Traffic Management System "Arrivals" list from the Panama Canal website (pdf file). It shows the Asian Emperor as scheduled to come through the Canal on Feb. 19, two days later than the original schedule. She's to enter the Canal at 7:45 am and depart the last lock at 5 pm. Unfortunately, the Miraflores Lock's webcam is not working. All I could see on the Gatun Lock webcam was a static image that was not labeled. So I don't know if we will be able to watch her progress.

And yes, I too, have a Mini riding on it--Miss Gracie.

Wow... the folks over at the forum driverphil mentioned (e90post.com) are giving a blow by blow commentary as the Asian Emperor navigates the canal today!

Wow, they're more obsessed than we are, or at least are equally obsessed with better access to information.

Seems as though the Emperor has made up some time and should arrive in PH as scheduled or on the 26th, according the bmw guys.

Ya, I kinda had to step back and think to my self, am I really this desperate to be watching it's every move on the webcams. When I woke this morning the first thing I did was turn my PC on. I even watched for it on the Centennial bridge but ended up seeing it only on the Gatun and the Miraflores cams. What's going to be better is when I actually get it, it will be all the hype that I've made it up to be. :D

My Clubman Sa is on the ASIAN EMPEROR. I dont have a name for it, I think I'll call it COOPER.
It should hit California in the 26, then it has to go to NW MINI in Tacoma WA
I'm starting to get excited to see it.

How many people have named their car after its cargo ship?
I wasn't going to name my car but if pressed, I may go with the Asian Emperor. It's regal. It's sturdy. It's dependable. It floats.

I'm waiting to drive mine around for a bit before I decide if I'll name it or not.

Uuuuh, ya, wolfgang please don't name your car after Asian Emperor. Chose anything but that IMHO. Think about when people might ask you about it and you tell them it's called the asian emperor, not only is that not a fun name for a fun car but they might think you have a "thing" for asian women or something. Oh, and for anybody else, our ship should show up on AISlive when it goes by San Diego.

The BMW folks over in the aforementioned forum (http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112549) are reporting the Asian Emperor has been spotted off the Coast of CA!

My MINI, which sailed on the AE, made it to Bob Smith MINI today.

I have an appointment to pick it up at 11a on Sunday.

Thank you.

My car, which had no VDC installed goodies, was released to the carrier yesterday and found its way on to a truck today, so your Seattle bound car could very well be be there this weekend.
