Production Week 4: Support Group
I just called Askmini and the auto automated said my car is waiting to be loading on the ship! Today is Saturday so I could not talk to a human.
When I ordered my Mini the sales rep said that Mini would send a few care packages while I waited. I have not received any. Has anyone else?

Don't even talk like that! I doubt it. I suppose anything is possible though. It only went back for about four hours. I think it was an error or something. It doesn't really matter though, because even if it was scratched I'm sure it's perfect leaving the factory either way.

They should sell videos of our cars as they are being made. They could make a small fortune on all of us waiting over here.
I just called and the automated message says it's in the paint shop and scheduled completion date is 01/26. When I talked to a human, he said that it was finished production but they couldn't tell me any more than that. That they only see when it's in production and not the shipping information and that I should call my MA. Has anyone else been told the same thing?
i just checked k-line schedules and there's a ship (Emden) leaving Southampton on 1/30 arriving in Charleston on 2/10 or a ship (Western Highway) leaving on 2/3 arriving in Charleston on 2/12. I hope ours make the K-line ships. Wish I could pull up shipping info by VIN on their site....

I'm in the blind, too.
ASK-MINI states Awaiting Transport with no further informaiton available. OL finally updated today from Scheduled for Production to Awaiting Transport. WW has no tracking for my VIN. Hopefully, I'll catch one of the K-line transports mentioned above. Soon... soon... Please, soon...

The Otello leaves Southampton and then it's next stop is my home town, Halifax, NS, then onto NYC, then Balitimore, and then Brunswick. So Charleston isn't part of the Otello's route.
Does anyone know for sure where the East Coast VDC locations are? One is Newark, NJ I believe, and the Spartenburg BMW plant is another one? So wouldn't all MINI's be either unloaded in NJ or SC? (For the East Coast)

I could swear I posted an update last night, oh well I must have been too tired to hit the submit button.
I got in form my ski trip last night, no cell service or internet access all weekend. I called ASK MINI, last night for automated and this morning to speak to a person. Right now my mini is awaiting transport. Hopefully it will be leaving on the 2nd.
I can't wait, this is killing me!

If you are anything like me right now, any MINI information you can get your hands on is not enough. I found a MINI production video on utube that's about 6 or 7 minutes long but doesn't have any commentary.

Called ASK MINI and the update says my car is waiting at the port for transport. I was bored, so I looked at the port in Southampton, UK on google earth and you can see a bunch of MINIs waiting at the port. Some of ours are doing the same thing right now.
Guess you can't attach a .kmz file. so here are the coordinates, just copy and paste into google earth.
50°53'15.44"N 1°23'44.53"W

In google earth, under the layers section, there is a "More" option that has a DigitalGlobe Coverage area. If you turn this on, it will show DG icons in google earth and these show the dates.

Whoa! That's a lot of MINIs!
No, couldn't find a search by VIN anywhere on their website. I'm just hoping that ASKMINI and the OL update to say 'en route' to know it got on the ship tomorrow. FYI, I found the schedule on K-line's webpage, http://www.kline.com/, by clicking on schedules tab, then selecting 'RoRo/car carrier' and looking at the excel spreadsheet.

Since the ship doesn't leave port until tomorrow, maybe there's still a chance that we will make it on that one, HFX.NS.CA. Cross your fingers!
