3 Days with my newly delivered MCSa
3 Days with my newly delivered MCSa
I took delivery of my car on Wednesday (Oct 24), ordered September 23. My MA, Steve, was pretty dead on in terms of his delivery estimate, and he provided professional service. I ordered from Westchester MINI, in Elmsford NY (Northern NYC suburbs).
My config was pretty bare bones:
BRG w/ Black Stripes (I like that its a rare combo)
Sport Package (Crown Spokes/DSC/Xenons)
Cold Weather Package
Comfort Access
Piano Black
Chrome Interior
Anthracite Headliner
Factory Alarm
iPod Adapter
White Tail Lights
Rear Fog Lights
Leatherette
In terms of options, I think I'm really happy with all of the options I have (except one). Comfort access is not only 'cool', but its really useful when I'm sprinting back to my commuter parking lot. I gain an extra few seconds in not having to pull my keys out on the way back home. The 17s may have been a mistake.
In retrospect I wish I'd picked up the PDC (worth a couple of hundred bucks). The car's belt line is high, and I'd recommend others think about it. Navigation maybe worth it, just based on how well the rest of the car integrates with it (I didn't have the budget).
The base stereo's crap (no other way I can put it), but its not a big deal to me.
I would definitely recommend prospective owners search through forums for past experiences. I skipped the sun roof based on possible rattles/wind noise.
Can't wait till I hit that magical 1200 on my odometer

Welcome to NAM and your new MINI. Show us some pictures.
You will find the 17s are pretty good, if your thinking comfort, get a second set of wheels and tires (non-run flats) when you can.
Nice set of options for a bare-bones.

I'm in NY. East coast turn around times seem to be about a month. Not too shabby.
Pics to follow soon... Need to get back home from Boston first. What a way to break-in a car. 2 NY/Boston round trips in three days.
