Mine was completed today 10/11 and headed for the docks - kinda hard to see how it could ship one day after completion being the docks are aways away from Oxford ??? but hey, good for you Kallum....

I am still very impressed with EB Mini - I placed my order on Wed 10/3 and on 10/11 the Mini is finished - Now comes the slow part - ship leaving on Monday the 12th for the West Coast - all depends on how many Mini's are waiting, Won't be surprised at all if it misses that Ship..

 

Just called.....again. Mine is looking to be completed on 10-13.

 

Well, when I called Mini it kept saying it was in the body shop (3 days?!) then it said it was awaiting transportation to the port or something like that on 10/8. I started looking on the ww website and found my Mini's VIN on the Aida. The website said my Mini was loaded on the ship at a little after 5pm on 10/9 and that the ship left port that same evening.

My son's Mini will be cruising across the Atlantic with yours on the Liberty.

We are all going to be having so much fun in November!!

 

Wow Harley, just looked you up to see if you got your Mini yet, and found out you did a re-order. What are they going to do w/ the one that you did order? I always wondered about that. In any case, that's twice you've been lucky you get such a quick production slot from ordering time!

 

Hey, you're tellin' me!?! Like she says, I ordered two days before her, and mine's still waiting for a boat -- I'm beginnin' to think she slipped our MA a fifty when i wasn't looking!

In all seriousness, though... I think her mini just "hit it right" with their system, and managed to catch all the green lights on it's way out the door. It's pretty impressive these days that you can order a semi-custom car, from another country, across an ocean -- and get it into your hot little hands in a little under a month!

I imagine some day, you'll be able to walk into the dealership, and they'll be able to build the car right there while you eat lunch.

 

I just did some online research and it seems like Southampton is only 70 miles away from Oxford. So with some good luck and available room on a shipping vessel, a new MINI being shipped 1 or 2 days after finishing production seems possible.

 

I do agree, Luck has to play in all this and we are all sitting here calling and doing searchs to see if it has move "even an inch and we want to party" I am also trying to buy a Toyota Highlander and the difference is like night and Day - ask about a special order and got a "blank stare" told them about Mini and I really don't think they believed me - oh well. I still say that "body shop" story is used way to often ????? just my guess. I see cars like above get right on the boat, then I read post where cars sit and miss one or two boats???? who knows.... 6 months from now, it wont make any difference, we will just be enjoying the ride.... I tell ya, who ever came up with this idea here is one smart "cookie" here we all are getting hyped over a car that is not even here yet... and how many of you have friends that just wish you would stop talking about your new child/car - they just don't get it - do they??? lol

Hmmm....how do some week 41 builds get shipped before my week 40 going to the east coast? Mine does not show up at all on the WW site. My MINI was completed on 10/4 and is still awaiting transport.

 

Entered paint shop today.
Looks like mine *might* sail next week?? (I hope)

 

The K-Line ship Emden departed SH on 10/5 and the Frisia departs today, so it is possible your Mini could ship on K-Line, depending on your location. You may want to contact your MA and see if he/she has current ship info.

West Coast ship for Week 41 is now headed to Southampton and will be loaded tomorrow... if you have a Vin number, you can check and see if you are sch for this Ship... TORTUGAS

 

Those of you that missed the Liberty on 10/12, have you been able to find out whether your car is on the K-Line ship named Frisia? Frisia also left Southampton on 10/12 and is headed towards the east coast. It should be in Charleston on 10/25. My 10/10 production did not make it to Liberty but perhaps it has been loaded onto Frisia. Some cars that arrived at the port on 10/11 have been loaded onto Liberty so I am trying to find out if any 10/10 productions including mine have made it to Frisia. I emailed my MA twice about shipping information but have not heard anything yet. My guess is they have no clue!

Also, does anyone know whether 1-866-ASK-MINI would have any shipping information? I called them yesterday but the customer service was closed for the weekend.
