New Oregon MINI owner (Salem)

Hey everybody.

I work at a dealership here in Salem, Oregon, and we had a couple trade in a 2003 Mini Cooper S with 7,243 miles... in pristine condition, appears to have sat in their garage more than it was on the road.. so I jumped on it, and I'm sure glad I did! I love this car. I've had it about 3 weeks now.

My previous car was a 2001 Eclipse GT 5-speed, no regrets on ridding of that..

My friends and I have already installed a Spectre steel-mesh cone air filter, a -15% SC pulley from MiniMania, and an Autometer boost gauge in a modified A-pillar pod mounted to the bottom side of the center console.

I've had the 17x7.5 Raceline 126's for just over a week..

Looking at springs next, then exhaust probably.

British racing green with color-matched top and dual sunroofs, heated seats, the harman kardon system/wheel controls, auto climate control, not 100% sure what else was optional..

And this is with the new wheels (stock runflats):

Looks like a great forum I'm sure I'll enjoy it here.

Thanks everyone

I've been waving at every Mini I see, more wave back than not!

I'm really lovin' it, can't seem to park any where and get out without someone commenting about the car, Minis sure attract a lot of attention.

Congratulations, again. Your car looks great.

Interesting you already know about waving, when other owners who have had their cars a lot longer don't have a clue about that.

Portland has a Mini club that has regular get-togethers, track days and drives. Feel free to check them out, at http://www.pdxmini.org.

Thanks everyone!

Here is a pic of my boost gauge for anyone curious (over the cigarette lighter on purpose );

And the steel-mesh cone -- I'm debating whether or not to shield it off, seems others are getting good or better results without.. bottom of the stock airbox to keep water and all else out, and hold the ECU.. it holds the filter firmly in place too!

I blacked out my beltline (probably temporarily), using the thickest/most heavy duty outdoor use electrical tape Lowes carried, I'm expecting it to come off rather easily but I had to see the difference, and it didn't take long for me to get it on straight..

I really like the result, so I'm going to order this soon: http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop...tline-kit.html
