I'm gonna get an Alta 4" shorty antenna, and that's about it for a long while. I don't want any performance parts on this car (that got real old on my previous car). Down the line, I'll likely get some wheels and tires.

My dealer also said they'd not install the front plate on mine.

I am getting the glovebox shelf from the dealer, the window shade, and mud flaps. First real mod will be a radiator bug guard.

A no holes front plate mount also. However I'll probably wait til the registration is due before I install the plates (year). My dealer agreed to not mount the front plate holder, so there won't be any holes in the front bumper (CA law requires a front plate).

I may consider blacking out the chrome bits; don't really like chrome on cars.
I was thinking about the radiator guard, but it's quite expensive. Also you have to remove the front grill to put it in, which i'm guessing means you have to remove to everytime you want to clean? Do you know how easy it is to remove the front grill?

Yah, I can see why you'd feel that way. CAI is probably the only one I want because I really enjoy the BOV sound, as long as it's not overbearing. Also, I'm very paranoid about my warranty being taken away.

Car ordered on 8/8/07 and Mini Owner's Lounge indicates that the car is at the dealer today 9/7/07. That's pretty quick I think. The dealer hasn't notified me about it yet.

Okay - so I'm totally confused. The mini website says my car is still awaiting transport. The ASKMINI line says it's in transport to the port of departure. The WW Site says it left on the 5th on the Topeka. What the????

If your VIN # is listed in the booking and is showing as loaded on the Topeka then that is where you are at. The OL can me very slow to update, and ASK MINI can be lagged as well.

The webisite is likely behind, if WW says they have your car, they probably do. If you want to double check, talk to a live person at ASKMINI.

I did talk to a live person. Who, by the way, treated me like an obsessed mental patient. Very condescending and unhelpful. He told me that my boat just got the port today. So that's 4 different stories now... I"m just hoping Tharkun is right!

Once the Mini's leave the factory the live ASK MINI folks are clueless, a good one will tell you to contact your MA, as ASK MINI has no clue what is happening at the port, if they say differant, they are just "guessing".

Unless you have a really unique situation......if WW site shows your VIN #, it will show a time that your Mini was loaded, and that means your Mini is on that ship.

I think the site for the radiator guard says you need to remove the front to install it, but the powder coating makes bugs wash off. Not sure how easy it is to remove the grill though. Never owned a Mini before.

Patriot

My little yellow mini is on the PATRIOT with some of yours. Just had my tracking discovery today reading through threads, the dealers weren't very helpful they could make it so much more exciting if they used the tools discovered here :-) Our ship looks to be on schedule!

Billo, did you get the convenience package? If so do you have a USB port next to AUX in?

One of the West coast bound boats (i.e. the Medea) docks in Port H. this coming Sunday. So we should be seeing our cars pretty soon.

If you check the WW site it has been updated to arrive in Port Hueneme on the 16th and depart on the 17th. Looks like the captain made up some time during the trip.

On the WW web site got to: Customer Service -> Schedules -> Search By Vessle -> Medea

Edit: Oops! my bad, different ships we're talking about here as you're on the east coast.

I just checked the OL again today, and now it shows a delivery date of 9/16 which is today, Sunday....do you think they actually have people come in on their days off to get the cars or just wait until Monday? Hopefully they come in today and I can pick my car up tomorrow afternoon!!!!

Cougar, I see you ordered the convenience package - could you let us know if you get the USB port? Some of us are holding onto a shred of hope this made it into week 34. Cabbagehead, could you do the same if you got the pkg or the bluetooth prep? Much appreciated, and congrats!
