Just wanted to say HI
Hello everyone. I'm new to this board and I will be purchasing a Mini Cooper within the next 2 mo. Originally, I wanted to buy an 07 Cooper, but after reading some threads here, turns out that the dealerships don't discount on the cars. I just can't get myself to paying MSRP for a brand new car. Anyways, will probably be looking to buy a 03-05 Cooper base.

I was hoping that if I can get some money off the price of a new one, it could fall into my budget. Nonetheless, a used Mini falls right in my budget .

I would like to get a MCS but I'm trying to maximum fuel efficiency. I guess my other car would be more of my fun car. Don't get me wrong, the Cooper will also be a fun car.

Welcome aboard - glad to have ya!! Let us know what you finally find and post some pictures when you get it. Unfortunately - MSRP is the norm for the MINI. Rarely can you get them for under. However, since the 07's are now out and about - you just might be able to negotiate a good price on an 06' sitting on a dealer lot. Check out the Vendor section here on NAM - make some phone calls...

Welcome aboard
Good luck in your search. Not sure what area your located, but I scan craigslist in our Denver area for a couple different type of cars I find of interest. Lots of MCS and MC forsale in the used market. I noticed a white 05 or 06 forsale at the Porsche dealer in Boulder. So you should find what you want at a good price.
Of course, nothing like the agony and pleasure of ordering an 07 MINI and joining the comarade of tracking your MINI with the others on NAM.
Welcome and good luck again in your search.

If you know what to look for, I suggest buying one used at a non mini dealer. They are usually a LOT cheaper, and you can negotiate the price far lower than what they're asking for. I got my MCS '02 for 18,000 back in '05, and still had original warranty on it! The only thing that was wrong with it was the drivers side door wouldn't roll down. It's funny because the dealer thought the power steering pump was failing, when in reality it whines from the electric assist! On the plus, I immediatly went to the nearest mini dealer afterwards, and updated all of the recalls (various rattles, pump wiring loom update, ect) and thay replaced the window motor for free.
