Just Ordered a New S. Only three days and wait is killing me already

:impatient

Greetings and Salutations All.

This will be my second Mini and the first that I have been able to custom order. I returned home and my wife asked if I ordered any of the options. Hmmmmm...yes dear.

Which ones?
"
I think all of them, but i might have missed a couple." Clearly an addiction that has been unfed for a while. So now the wait begins and the search for mods is underway. It appears that this forum is very well read, and full of information, opinions, and some great people and advice.
First o the list ... New 18 Wheels/tires, and a better exhaust system.

The new car is an S in Mellow Yellow with matching roof, JCW body kit plus plus... Probably going for black wheels with a polished lip,{the Palo Ubers look great} but suggestions are welcome.

Don't worry, the wait will give you plenty of time for that MODS obsession to really kick in!

Congrats on being an almost-owner.

Tip: Accept the misery of the waiting. Don't fight it. Let it wash over you. It doesn't get easier or better. It gets harder as time goes on.

After 6 years of shopping for Ferrari Parts & mods where a Tubi Exhaust system and pipes will set ya back $5k+++,... all of the MINI stuff looks very reasonable. It was too easy to say yes on the car configurator in the showroom, my only true addiction but great fun

I know what you are going through. I only had 3 days to wait and I had the dealer's MCS to drive. It just wasn't the same. I couldn't sleep at all. After getting home with the car last night I could finally sleep.

Sounds like one killer Mini! How do you feel it compares with the Ferrari? I know apples to oranges, just curious though.

Not so silly. It's no so much how the car feels, but rather how you feel in the car. Both give great pleasure but to different senses. I tend to carry more spped in the MINI around town. (at lease in my 03 MCS) It just seems easier to drive briskly. At the track, The F-car simply shines. The F1 shift, and over 400 hp with the modified exhaust are a brilliant combinatinn with the sport setting on the ECU which tightens sthe shocks, and quickens the shifts. It corners very flat with little roll, and with the competition slicks, just tears up the corners with confidence. 4 times a year at least for a few days. The creature comforts are fairly similar now that I've finsihed the Ferrari, and the new Mini will certainly become more of daily driver. I traded in a "Dump Truck" [sic] Lexus LX 470 to geth the Mini, and it's like lossing 3,500 lb's....NO Wait, It IS losing 3,500 lb's !
Now .... Time is standing still and the days feel like weeks waiting for the Mini...ARGGH :impatient :impatient

My wife has had some difficulty with the clutch on the 03 MCS we had a year ago, {Stalled it a few times in traffic in Washington DC at a busy intersection with kids in the car} Kinda scared her a bit, and she pleaded to get the Steptronic in this one this time... Joint custody on Most of the cars in the family with tone exception. (she cant see too well in the 360 with the racing seats that have no height adjustment) so it only seems fair to get the MINI withthe tipppy.

Share the seat, and all that.
