Hello from Guadalajara MEXICO!
Hello from Guadalajara MEXICO!
Hello everyone!
My name is Julio and I am a new NAM member, although I have been here as a guest several times. I've also been an active member at mini2.com for more than two years. I'm sure that some of you know me already from that other site.
I live in Mexico (Guadalajara) and I'm the owner of a beautiful LY/W 2005 MINI Cooper. I love my car!
I'm also a scale model collector and have added several MINIs to my collection lately.
Viva MINI!!!

Hi, welcome to NAM
. I used to work with a couple of guy's that had houses on Lake Chapala. They retired from the railroad here in California and moved back to Mexico about 15 years ago, I hope they are doing well.
Thanks!
Thanks! There are a lot of retired Americans living by the lake. I have a couple of friends who lived there for a while. But, after a couple of years they got bored and decided to move to Guadalajara. They are happier now!
Julio,
Welcome to NAM. I've enjoyed your posts on Mini2. I think you'll enjoy this group, as well.

Yes it does. I'm moving there in a few weeks. Any advice for driving from Nogales to PV or anywhere in Mexico for that matter! And service places? I asume Guadalajara has a dealer. Is there a list somewhere of dealers in Mexico?

Good luck!
Hola....como estas? I lived in the GDL area...Zapopan......for over a year in '97. It is a BEAUTIFUL city and I plan to return to visit in the near future. All of the VW Beetle drivers must be envious of your MINI verdad?
Hasta luego.

I have driven many times from Nuevo Laredo to Guadaljara and it is true...it is risky driving at night. There are many security road blocks with armed police...just be polite and answer questions. Also...the main obstacle for us gringos is gas stops. The stations are relatively sparse (not on every corner like here) and nationally owned...PEMEX. No waiting for a better price and they pump....not you. Watch for gouging...the pump will jump to 1 or 2 pesos instantly. It is pretty desolate so if you can use a toll road I advise it.....it is expensive but safer and there are amenities. Buena suerte.
