Longer Y cables?

Just picked up my 2014 convertible (1st time Mini owner) and shocked that no iPhone 5s compatibility or voice-activation is included. I have a lightning adapter which works with the Y cable but the cable is so short. Anyone use a longer Y cable they can recommend? I did not get NAV (as the salesperson told me it wasn't needed) but now I feel like I should have gotten it, nor did I get the iPhone snap-in holder.

I got a standard 'old style' Apple extender cable from Amazon - you can then put the Lightning adapter on the end of that. Y cable and extender are black but the Apple Lightning adapters white - doh!

I used a USB extender cable and a 1/8" audio jack extender cable. Eventually I soldered them into the unit in place of the USB and audi tails.

When I had to use a different y-cable I didn't bother and just put my iPod in the passenger footwell cargo net.

I use the standard y cable to a .2m lightning adapter to a lightning extension cable. It usually works but is sketchy.

Before my iPhone5 I had a 30 pin extension and it worked great, so when I got the 5 I added the adapter to the end of the 30pin extension and it charged but no audio signal worked.

So it works most of the time but it isn't perfect.

I am going to look into A2DP adapter and just use a 1a charger for power as I consume power using waze faster than the car can charge it.

I tried one of those. Works with older iPods and iPhones, but not with anything that requires the Lightning adapter. :-(

I tried the same, Y+30pin extender + 30pin to lighting adapter, but there's noticeable static noise. so now i'm using y cable + 0.2m apple lighting adapter, barely enough long to reach the iphone5 on cravenspeed scissor phone mount.

Factory Y > Cable Jive 30 pin Extension > .2m factory Apple lightning adapter

No static, nothing falls out, everything works the way it should.
