Thule Rooftop Storage Box
We just completed a 7 day driving trip with a Thule Ascent 1600 storage box attached to the stock Mini roof rack. I believe this is the largest storage box that will reasonably work with the Mini. While it does add some aerodynamic drag, it is barely noticeable at highway speeds. It makes the car quite tall at just under 6' but we had no problems using covered parking structures. Note that a 4" stubby antenna still hits the storage box and we ended up removing the antenna. A 2" stubby antenna should work fine and that's what we'll go with next time.

brianplee, thank you for sharing. That Thule Ascent 1600 storage box looks quite nice sitting on top of the Mini. It appears as if Thule has replaced the Ascent 1600 model with the Pulse L 614. I've been looking for a bargain and came across the following web site. Currently, $50 off the original price of $399.95.
