I'm a newbie to the board, but not new to modifying my vehicles. I recently bought an all black 2005 MCS. I'm happy with it so far and enjoy driving it. The car is completely stock when I bought it, but not for long. I ordered a slough of parts. My question, is the next and probably last power upgrade for a while is a tuner. I've read other threads and etc, but i'm probably going with the Shark injector since i'll be adding a 17% SC pulley, 2% crank pulley (possibly depending on the tuner), intake with tube, catback exhaust, MSD ignition, spark plugs and wires and intercooler diverter. Will the Shark be able to compensate or will I have to get something different? And are there any good tuners in the NW US? Thanks in advance.

You don't want a 2% oversize crank pulley with a 17% reduction pulley. No benefit of MSD over stock coil. Shark is a waste of money. You don't really need a remap unless you go with larger injectors and/or a cam, in which case you want a custom tune.
Yes the shark is not recommended as it is too advanced in the timing, also it doesn't change the throttle, or fuel maps so we stay far away.
You are welcome to send us your ECU and we will do our quicktune, and it's more effective for less $$.

Then for the mods it's not a good idea to go with a 17% and 2% as you have too much boost and the ECU won't like that as you will actually loose power and make the supercharger less efficient.

That's a possibilty down the road. JCW injectors probably and a cam but not at the moment. Just don't want to have to re-buy things if I don't have to.Originally Posted by MINIAC

Yeah, i've read that doing the 2 pulleys together in this size is counter productive. Might be taking the CS pulley back. Oh and thanks for the insight on the ECU tune. As i've read on your website, it doesn't actually increase HP much correct?Originally Posted by WayMotorWorks

You kind of doing this backward.
You should talk to different tuners, and when you decide which one to go with then get the parts that best enhance the tune. So that everything works together.
RMW is another tuner that people have had success with. He is based in California and I believe he can do both canned and custom tunes.

You can do all of that stuff ( 17% pulley, intake, exhaust)....and be just fine without messing with the tune on your DME. If you just have to have a new tune.....be prepared to spend a bunch of cash on a custom tune from one of the few guys that do it. Don't waste your money on a canned tune/quick tune unless you HAVE to because you changed your injectors and the car won't run without a new tune.Originally Posted by DRated

It does gain HP and torque, but we are not don't advertise it as a big HP gaining tune as that is not our goal with the basic quick tune. Originally Posted by DRated

It's our basic tune, that is just what we call it as it's not as time consuming as a complete dyno tune.Originally Posted by wellzy
