Your key fob provides the seamless means of getting in and out of your MINI Cooper. Although you can unlock the door without using the actual remote, it is still a bit of an inconvenience. If you press on your key fob to lock or unlock your doors and nothing happens, then you are in the right place. It's common that the dealership would charge you for a replacement key fob, which can set you back a few hundred dollars. Before going to your MINI Cooper dealership or any auto shop, try following the steps below to fix and reprogram the fob. First make sure your key fob's battery is working properly, then read on to learn how to fix this issue if it persists after replacing the battery.

Step 1 – Unlock the car
