Information: Here is your chance to get a BBS wheel that is the world’s lightest production cast wheel! This specialized process begins with a low pressure type of casting and uses a special machine that spins the initial casting, heats the outer portion of the casting and then uses steel rollers pressed against the rim area to pull the rim to its final width and shape. The combination of the heat, pressure and spinning create a rim area with the strength similar to a forged wheel without the high cost of the forging. BBS has used this technology for several years in their production of racing wheels for Formula One and Indy cars. The BBS's RC is an example of a wheel produced using spun rim technology.

a great deal for a serious set of real deal BBS RC's!
to serious buyers... don't listen to the above sarcastic posts... aftermarket BBS's are not cheap, no aftermarket forged racing rim is cheap.
good luck on your sale Passat774!

I have bbs rgr's on my mcs and love them. I paid 585 per wheel 2 years ago. BBS is the best wheel i have ever owned and I also have 18" hammans and I dont even use them anymore because they suck.
Serious buyers should definately consider the wheels offered by this guy.

Here is the reason these are so awesome !

This is how these wheels are made:

Flow Forming is a production procedure that turns the wheel (or rim section) over a special mandrel and three hydraulic rollers using tremendous pressure. The pressure and turning then force the rim area to form against the mandrel, creating the shape and width of the rim. During Flow Forming, the rim actually "flows” down to create the full rim width.

Less weight is key to record-breaking speed.

Why is Flow Forming such a big deal? Because during Flow Forming, pressure applied to the cast rim actually changes its mechanical properties, so its strength and impact values become similar to those of a forged rim. That translates to up to 15% less weight when compared to a standard cast wheel.

BBS currently uses Flow Forming in the production of CH and RC one-piece wheels, and for the rim sections of the RXII, RKII, RSII, and RWII multi-piece wheels. You can read more about our road wheel specifications on the Descriptions and Photos page.

Photos of the Flow Forming process:

I wonder if the caps still fit if one is using studs.

BBS, sends all the hardware. New lug bolts, and metal hub rings.

Although, the exposed lug center caps I custom made myself

Teh RC's pictured in the first post have full caps over the lugs. I know BBS supplies new new lug bolts but I've switched over to studs. When you do wheel changes 1-2 times a week it makes it a lot easier. I realize that the wheels shown in the first post are not for sale and I really don't need another set of wheels either, but I am curious if the caps would fit with studs I use. This post is more me thinking out loud then a real search for an answer.

The studs should work with the covered cap. It just depends on how long they are..
