FS: Colorado: General Exclaim UHP, 215-45-17, 1000 miles

They are a great tire, I made the switch from my Parada Spec 2s to something much quieter...and more comfortable. Only thing is, I really miss the crazy performance of my Parada Spec 2s...so I have put the s-lytes back on the car (they have the Paradas on them). My Kosei K1s will be getting Kuhmo MX on them in a few weeks to replace the UHPs. I just want a stiffer side wall.

So, for someone that has a 17" rim, wants a decent performance tire for street driving/daily driving, this is a great tire, I just want to go back to extreme performance for my summer tire.

They are in Colorado, still on my rims, but will pull them off when I get a buyer or I get my MXs installed. I would prefer to sell local, and will drive as far as Ft. Collins or Pueblo to drop off. I will ship at buyers expense from 80134 via ups.

Tires have about 1000 miles on them, some hard driving through the canyons from MITM, but they do not show it at all. Minimal tread wear. I can take pics, but really, they look new.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....speed_rating=Y

The tire is rated #1 in its class from Tirerack, and now the price is lower than I paid back in April. . So, Looking to get $250 for all 4 tires, plus shipping if not taken by a Colorado member. Local gets priority over shipping as I hate having to deal with shipping stuff.

Two questions:
1. What were your impresions of the Generals?
2. Why are yuo choosing the Kumho MX and not SPT?

the Generals were a great tire, no doubt, decent performance, but the side wall was a bit SOFT for me, they still are an amazingly well performing tire for the class, ultra high performance all season, etc. The reason I went with the MX over the SPT is performance, and the fact that my MINI is just a toy for me. Only out on nice weather days, not my daily driver. I wanted extreme performance on dry, and a reasonable price, hence not going with the goodyear F1s which way outperform the MX. The SPT and the Generals are similar in performance. I have had Parada Spec 2s on my s-lytes, and I wanted initially to go to a softer ride, got new rims and the Generals. Well, I was wrong, I ended up wanting to go back to high performance. That is why I went with the MX. My car is well over 4 years old now, and I only have 22K miles on it, most of whick were the first year of ownership, 9 k miles, and this past summer, I have put another 4K miles on it. I don't track the car anymore, I just drive spiritedly these days, adn the MX will provide oodles of fun, with massive stick for my needs, well over the SPT. I have driven cars that have the SPT on them, and they are a great tire, but similar in performance to the UHPs. In my opinion.
