Request: Trustworthy/Affordable mechanics shop in Orlando (AC repair needed)

The AC in my 2006 MCS stopped working recently (details of issues avail if requested). I had it looked into by a local shop (general mechanics shop, not mini focused), and they told me I needed a new compressor and condenser, to the tune of a cool $1k+. If that's the repair that needs to be done, then I guess I'll have to spend the money, but I'd like to get a second opinion first.

Can anyone recommend a trustworthy and affordable repair/mechanics shop, in the general Orlando, FL area, for such a job?

Call Ian @ Maitland Importers. He has TONS of experience with MINIs and is one of the most respected and best-known MINI guys in the state. If I were near O-town I wouldn't go anywhere else, no matter what the issue.

I took fridayxiii's advice & went to Ian & Maitland Importers and couldn't have been more pleased.

I'm glad you had such a good experience with Ian. He really is a stand-up guy, who spent an hour + of his time on the phone with me this year to help troubleshoot a pesky SES light. I offered to compensate him, but Ian wouldn't accept a penny in return even though the work was being done at my local shop here in Tampa Bay. (He has a great wealth of experience & knowledge when it comes to mods & upgrades as well.)

Thankfully I have a pretty good local shop but if I was within an hour's drive, Ian would be my go-to guy.

Great thoughts shared, i prefer to replace it and call technician for new ac unit installation so that further will not see any problem.
