Bolt In Roll Cage

I am in the market for a used Bolt In Roll Cage for a MINI Cooper that I am building to run in SCCA ITB.

If Way forks over the price and its decent...you should jump on it. I like the design of the cage. Maybe we could work out a trade...

I was thinking $750 for it. I bought it with plans to put it in another car, but never built that car so it's just been sitting in the garage since. I can take some pics over the weekend.

It most likely is FIA approved & would be allowed in SCCA events. You'd just need a set of the FIA papers for the bar. Check the current GCR's to be sure.

Way is that cage made by Safety Devices?

That's what I thought. They make a very nice fitting cage. IMO much nicer than Autopower.

mini's with a sunroof have a lower headliner. So the bar on the cage wouldn't clear.

Well skite....
So I'd have to chop the roll bar?? Or re-due the whole cage? Hmm... That blows... Can this be confirmed?? And anyway it would work without destroying the cage?

Ill confirm it haha. I've had my mini for a long time now. Ive Auto-X my fair share. Ive wanted to add a Roll Cage before too. It might fit if you dont mind losing your headliner. Also you would probably destroy the integrity of the cage if you cut it. I'd recommend getting one made to work with your sunroof.

A cage for a Non-sunroof MINI does not fit sunroof MINI...ask me how I know..

Now one can trim the legs and reweld the footers, been there, done that.

If possible get a bar designed for a sunroof car. Modifying a bar is not only a huge pain in the *** it could make it lose it's SCCA approval.

Anything is possible. But I still don't see it working out. The headliner will look all notched. If your gunna do that just rip out the headliner all together. Or better yet replace your roof panel and get rid of the sunroofs.

For a full cage yeah...but if all one is doing is putting a bar for DE's then the SCCA legality is moot issue. And the bar is more then was there so it's a plus thing...at least thats my justification.

What about the AP 6pt cage? Will that fit a sunroof equipped car?
Nate?
