Just a clarification since I know little about aftermarket tuning. Is the stock factory tune saved to revert back to stock at anytime? Will this work on a 2011 and up?

It is saved to the device the first time you plug it into your OBDII port. We are not tuning for N18 at this time, but are exploring that option. If you have a N14 you would be fine.

My buddy just got his tune in today and his reaction was very very very positive. All those boost surges auto tranny guys got, were not existent with the Battle Tune!!!

It was a PITA with the Cobb and now, it's practically not even there! Very smooth and he is so happy with it. Good job on the tune Battle!!

Ladies and gents. Just wanted to let y'all know that my guy is going through some wisdom teeth surgeries and is having some complications associated with it, so I'm apologizing ahead of time if we take a few days to sort things out so hopefully we can get your tunes out as quickly, but properly, as we can!

Cheers.

Battle

No rush! Wisdom teeth can be a giant pain! I had to have 6 removed a couple years ago. Not fun. I won't be able to fully unleash the tune until this weather clears up anyway. I wish your guy the best of luck!

Awesome! I was getting curious to see how you liked it. I wasn't sure if you wrapped yourself around a pole from all the snow. But GREAT!

Yeah I contemplated driving around in the snow, but then I remembered your words - "don't get wrapped up around a pole or in a ditch!" So I decided to stay put and wait for better weather conditions. I just stared at my car from the window as though I was actually looking at the tune! Geeeez

Saw your post over in the "what you did to your MINI today". Glad you're really enjoying the tune.

PM'd!

My guy is back to work, so hopefully I can churn a bit more tunes out for you guys. It's been a bit slow, we apologize.

We realize several of you guys are patiently waiting on your custom tune, I just wanted to reiterate that this is a custom tune and it takes time to write to your existing ECU data, so please allow us the time to ensure that you get the best that we can offer.

Also keep in mind, DNA also manages several racing series/teams...

Battletune, I do have a question about your description of "linear feel" and "linear throttle". i know the linear throttle part which only makes sense, but linear feel. What is that really? Till I can convince the wife, I'll be on the fence till the last minute of the month. Just may have to pull the trigger and say they shipped it by mistake! I'm thinking stage 2 for me.

Linear feel. We're really talking about the powerband that is associated with a linear tune that we can make for you. Power delivery can be linear, i.e. naturally aspirated. So you really have to rev to get the most of your power. It will continue to pull and pull until redline w/o any drops or hiccups. Whereas our non-linear maps is how your MINI will drive now, with power down low and instant.

Ok, I think I may have it, on a long stretch linear would be great due to pulling till redline, but non- linear would be better for short twisty type on-off throttle applications, such as auto cross or canyon driving.

It can go both ways, all depends on the user really. The Challenge cars all have linear throttle/linear mapping because it's much more predictable coming out of an apex as you're not being slammed with all your boost.

I know this may be subjective, but what would be more enjoyable in the city (linear or nonlinear)? I do 90% of my driving with lots of stop lights and short spurts on the highway.

I can answer that for you. You'll probably want the nonlinear map because if you intend to cut someone off, if I may say frankly, you'll want to "get on it" quickly.

I do a lot of highway cruising taking the Fastrak to work so I like to rev it up to speed but if I have city driving or stop and go on the freeway, I really don't mind the linear powerband. I just love revving the MINI and hearing the exhaust...

That's what I figured. I kind of prefer a tombstone curve to my powerband. Thanks.

ra2fanatic, thanks for the actual hands on response. What about linear throttle and non-linear map. In your face boost down low, with normal throttle action like a real car (pre drive by wire days). If i were to have a tune of non-linear powerband, how much to change it to linear. Would battletuning allow me to have two tunes, three actually (stock, linear, nonlinear).

A question that I thought of, when I get stage 2 then stage 3 should I get a new set of colder range spark plugs? Or is that not necessary?
