Australia is holding their own version of MINI United from 2nd to 6th November. It’s called clubMINI AUnited 2012 (AU is the Internet abbreviation for Australia) and it’s being organized by clubMINI with support from MINI Australia.
AUnited is happening in Adelaide and MINIs are travelling in convoy from across the country. In distance, that’s equivalent to holding an event in, say, St Louis with MINIs travelling from as far as New York and San Francisco.
The famous Quack Quack Jack and Quack Quack Jill have arrived in Australia to join in the festivities.
The main event is at the National Motor Museum on the 3rd, with displays, prizes and a range of MINI United type of activities. MINI Australia is trucking display cars from Sydney and providing prizes and special offers.
After that is two days of driving through the hills behind Adelaide, on fabulous twisty roads that have MINI written all over them. The whole event wraps up with a movie night at Adelaide’s main MINI dealership (no prizes for guessing the movie) and a big breakfast to send everyone on their long ways home.

The event is over and, after 3 days of travelling, even the most distant participants are back home. All went according to plan (apart from a thunderstorm disturbing the movie night )and it was a great time for all there.

I actually went on your site and downloaded your calendar and there were no track days which is why I thought might suggest it.

As you know Australia's turning into a police state where even 5kph over the speed limit the police think you have a death wish and are some kind of maniac.

 

Within our membership there is a core of motorsport-focussed members. The calendar shows the events for the overall membership, and there's a separate calendar of events the motorsport guys select from. The two 6-hour relay races make it onto the main calendar because quite a few members go up to assist our team on those weekends.

Like I said, send me your email address and I can email you the motorsport calendar as it stands. We're still waiting on a couple of other clubs to finalize their 2015 events so I can add you to our mailing list to pick that up when it's ready if you like.
