235/35/18 with 42 offset will fit.

Hey guys, right now I have 225/40/18 with 42 offset and have no rubbing. These tires are about done and I want to got to 235/35/18 with the same wheels. Do you think if I grind down the fenders I will have any problems? Also I'm on H-Sport springs

width on a 225/45 vs 235/35... i bet the 225/40 would have more
sidewall buldge so you probably wont need to dremel if going to 235/35.

5mm on each side so even if it did rub it would be an easy fix.

Hey Mario...You need HP to warrant such wide tires.

Didn't I beat you with an extra 200lb person in my car and 300lbs of suitcases in my boot and that was before my head, cam, PBV and crank pulley. But you are right, I need more power, I'm guessing a turbo or M762 in 5 months.

tires

Mario, You can see my setup in my gallery and some closeup shot of my 245/35/18 in the lowered mini forum. It really depends on the width of your existing wheels. You don't want too wide tires on a 7 or 7.5 wheels cause your handleing will suck. Too much side wall flex.

Your current 225/40 has 25.1 diameter which is too tall, you want to lower it down to 24.5. Be careful to choose the right size.

Do you think 235 on 7.5 is too much?

tires

235/35 is not recommended to go on 7.5 wheels check tire rack for the sizes and spec. 8.0-9.5 will work. I've mounted wide tires on 7.5 wheels and the handleing was horrible, I would not go that route unless you want to feel like you're driving a miniVAN

I definetly wouldnt recommend going with that wide on a 7.5" rim.

I do have only positive things to say about that on a 8" rim.

So if your running a 245 on a 18, would I have a problem running a 245 on a 16, its a 8inch rim. BTW whats the offset on your rims
Also do you think that I will have a problem since I am just a cooper and only have so much power to spin those wheels

offset

You may have a difficult time finding 245 in 16, I would log on to Edgeracing.com or tirerack and find out the spec for the proper size wheels. It will show the overall height and width of the tire. I think 8" wheels may be a bit too narrow for 245. IMO.

The Kodiak wheels that I have is custom made to specific spec and they didn't go by the offset but rather backspace. You may want to contact them for more question. www.Kodiakracing.com.

What must you need are camber plate and rear control arm and coilover to fine tune this setup for the perfect stance.
