Harbor Freight Disc Brake Tool on sale

Only $15 with this coupon (in store only, though)

Just got it in my email, and figured I'd share it here, since it's a pretty useful tool, and at less than half the normal price. I'm going to go pick one up, even though I don't need it yet.

what's the use for this set? I've never had a dedicated brake tool set and I've got Brembo's on teh other car.

I believe it is supposed to be easier than just using a C-Clamp to push the piston back into the caliber when replacing pads.... I haven't fought this battle yet but this tool is recommended as making it easier on the rears. Having paid nearly that much for a c-clamp I figure it can't be bad....

hmm....fingers broken?? I've done pads on more than a few cars (including four pot Brembo's and StopTechs) and never needed a tool to compress the pistons.

Thank you for the coupon

There's a store 5 miles from me so I'm off to pick one up today.

On most Euro cars (take my VW, BMW, MINI) you have to push the rear caliper in while rotating it. This caliper tool does this. If you just use a C-clamp like most people here do you can damage the rubber boot on the caliper or damage the pistons.
