I know there are one, or two 16 inch rims that will work with the JCW BBK. Anyone know what they are and will they require spacers?

I'm pretty sure it's these two...

I have a set of the R83s for sale.

I am thinking more of non-OEM lighter wheel.

Sorry. I thought you were asking about the OE wheels.

SSR Comps for sure
I am running 16" SSR Comps without spacers. Tire Rack's website now has the JCW as a filter you can choose to see what other wheels (they carry) will fit. I believe there is quite a few more than just a couple.

Actually, TireRack only comes back with 17teens. But I will check again. Wish I could affort the SSR's.

JCW Brakes fit the R94 but not the R83. They also fit the R87 shown below, but this 16" wheel is only 5.5" wide ...

The JCW brake kit will fit under the R84 (X-lites)

The Phil Wicks MINI had the JCW brakes mounted with the R84 rims. I talked to them about it, and the only problem seems to come in when a shop goes to put balance weights onto the rim. They may have to be shaved to clear the caliper properly. It is a VERY tight fit, but it can be done.

There are also cooling issues ... hence these wheels aren't approved by MINI.

I appreciate the input, but I will have to quote myself:

Ah, you're right. You might try contacting Alex at Tire Rack. He helped me with the SSR's earlier this year and should know what else fits. I'm betting the Gram Lite's would as well. Although they aren't exactly cheap either. Good luck.

How's this? 16x7.5 Kosei K1 wheels over JCW brakes, and the wheels are light and cheap from Tirerack. FYI-I sent these pics to Alex from Tirerack but I see they still don't approve these wheels for the JCW MCS.

Those would work, but TireRack doesn't show them anymore. Maybe they are out of stock. What did they cost you if I may ask?

Hmm..I think they were around $140 each and weigh around 15 lbs each. You're right, they don't show them on the site anymore, or the K2's either-weird.

I bet those 16x7 O.Z. Ultraleggeras would fit, and are only 14.5 lbs. The reason I'm sure of thise is if you look at the pics of my car, you will see that the rim comes nowhere near the caliper, it's the spokes that are the closest. The Kosei and Ultraleggera wheels have spokes that start at the edge of the rim and go to the centre, providing lots of clearance.
