BBS vs. SSR

I'm looking for a set of light weight forge wheels, and my finally decision are between these two BBS RG-F in 16*7 (et35) and SSR Type C 17*7.5 (et42).

Is easy to get pictures of the SSR, but not the BBS.

I know the BBS does have some crazy offset, but I dont think is such a big issuse. Opinion are welcome, tell me what do you guys think! thanks in advance!

BBS RG-F in 16*7 (ET35) (12lbs) (forge)

SSR TYPE C 17*7.5
E(ET42) (12.8lbs) (semi-forge)

i'd go with the SSR's (im slightly biased...) but also throw in some CP035's and TE37's into the mix.

Assuming you are talking about buying NEW wheels, where do you intend to get SSR Comp's?

They are OUT at TireRack in all MINI fitments except the 16x6.5 size, and I haven't heard of other US vendors that sell them.

Tanabe bought SSR along with it's parent company, Speed Star Wheels, and does NOT intend to offer US or Japanese customers any 'good' sizes anymore (7.5 inch widths, etc.), nor will they offer the sweet polished lips that SSR always gave us on the Comps. Talk to Alex at TireRack if you want more on the current status of their relationship with Tanabe .
.

I know Tirerack is out of stock for the 17" SSR. I'm not trying to get the US ver SSR Comps. I can get the SSR TYPE C from Asia (little stock left), which is the same but without centre cap. This is the color that I'm looking at....

I really like RG-F too, but is hard to find good BBK to fit them.

I'm trying not to go SO JDM...

Gotta be the BBS - just because they look like the wheels on the Porsche 911 Turbo slantnose I had a poster of when I was a kid.

BBS is too 1980's Bimmer for my tastes. The MINI is a very modern rendition on tradition, go SSR.

If you're not concerned about fender trimming, using spacers etc. (although you might not have to on a stock suspension) my vote is definitely for the RG-Fs.....sweet wheel. I wish they produced these, or similar, in a more MINI-friendly offset .

we had some SSRs on one of our other cars and liked them a lot...

now i have ASA AR1s on my MINI...

if you were my husband, you'd be asking for both sets.
