Need Opinions: OZ superturismo WRC or TD Pro Race 1

OZ Superturismo WRC

TD Pro Race 1

You know I really just can't decide. The WRCs just seem to look better and I like the fact that they're flat instead of how the Team Dynamics spokes are flared out. On the other hand, the team dynamics are lighter (~7.3 lbs) and they're cheaper. I think I already know my answer... [edit] No, I don't...

The TDRs are much lighter, much cheaper, and have a great reputation. The OZs are... Well they do have those faux carbon center caps, but...

Is OZs reputation worse than TDR? It can't just be me that thinks the OZs look better than the TDR... Anyways, you're probably right XAlfa, there's alot going for the TDRs, mainly the 7-8 lb difference at each corner... I can stomach the extra $150-$200.

Not saying OZ's reputation is worse at all (I run them), but that TDR's reputation is very good. 7lbs is a huge amount of weight on a wheel. I would describe this OZ is a street poseur wheel, while the TDR is the real deal.

I love my TRD's. No spacers with the StopTech BBK. A beotch to keep clean, though.

Personally, I like the TDR - fewer spokes. Also, I'm not really feelin' the flat look of the OZs. I like the way the TDR spokes flare. The Mini's not a very angular car.

7-8 lbs should be enough weight difference for you to feel while driving over bumps and accelerating.

Yeah, they'll both be hard to keep clean, but OZ's would be worse because there are more spokes with tighter spacing. I had BBS RCs on a previous car and they were a real pain. SSR comps = easy.

I have the same TDRs as Jim and I love them. I was looking at a set of OZs as well, but couldn't turn down a good deal on a set of TDRs with tires.

I just ordered a set of the White Team Dynamics 15" Thursday, so they obviously get my pick. Can't wait for them to get here. Choose wisely.

I know. That's why I posted it here. As it is, I'm running the x-lites with runflats and I want to switch out my rims when my tires run out of tread. With the OZs and GS-D3s, I gain close to 4lbs at each corner. With the TDRs and GS-D3s, I lose 3.4lbs.

It seems like everybody believes I should get the Team Dynamics. I'm starting to think so also.

White?! You, sir, are a masochist.

Go anthracite or black.

Heh, I'm going white too. Probably going to switch to Hawk Ceramics at the same time.

Another vote for the TDRs from me.

I'm not sure what choice you get over the other side of the pond, but over here the TD Pro Race 1s aren't that easy to come by, most places only sell the Pro Race 1.2s. They look near identical at a quick glance, but the spokes don't curve out as much which means there's hardly any room for a BBK. This caught me out when I bought some black TD PR1.2s and then the Stoptech brakes, I needed 15mm spacers

So I've just bought my self some TD PR1s in anthricite. I'll keep these for street use and the others for the track.

Will the TD PR1s work with the JCW Brakes?

Thanks for making me laugh this morning. I'm paying quite a bit extra for the special anti-brake dust and dirt coating, the guy said he could give me a deal on a second undercoating layer at the same time.

Actually, mine is electric blue/white, so other than silver that's the only choice that looks good to me.

Hey, I just came up with a new wheel that seems to have the best of both worlds. What about the Team Dynamics Pro Competitions 1? Are they a lot more expensive? Anybody know where I can get them? Or even their specific weight in 17x7? I found them on the Team Dynamic website but I googled it and found nothing.

[Edit] I found the weight, ~19 lbs, which places it neatly between the OZs and Pro Race 1s.

I'm sure they will. Alot of people are running much bigger brakes than that.

I was using outmotoring or Webb for the Team Dynamics and Tirerack for the OZs.

Okay, I've settled on the Team Dynamics Pro Race 1. I was wondering if the centercap that is included is black.

What do you guys think of these? Alone they look good, but does it seems to remind me of something... Honda, Acura?

I like the TD's more. But then, I'm biased.
They come with a black cap with a silver center.
