Jonsibal, it is a common practice here, bashing a wheel because it is heavy. There are people out there that don't give a **** about running on heavy 18s because they look 10x better than 15 ibs ricer rims. Different purposes, different practices, what can you say?

Jonsibal, it is a common practice here, overreacting to someone's opinion because it is contrary to what he/she believes. The person looked at the rims and thought they looked heavy - there was no bash.

and why are you advocating other people? There was a certain negative thought, which is based on a pic. Overreacting? Well, you have not seen it yet. This heavy rim deal is REALLY getting old. But, hey, can't overcome ignorance.

Well I have to say these rims wil probably be around 23-26#'s maybe more...at 9" wide, unless they are magnesium..

But hey, you don't buy these rims for track...My Advan RG-IIs are 16#s, if I am tracking/autoxing I'm gonna use my advans...but I need a second set of rims for my daily tires/rain tires..my AO48's just dont grab anything when its wet out.

Because he/she never said heavy rims were bad, just that they looked heavy. Had he said they looked light, would you assume he was bashing light rims?? I took his words as they were typed, and I tried not to wrongly apply the common beliefs of the board.

Heavy because there is a lot of metal, spokes, deep dish ... I am more worried about the way the stick WAY OUT ... Curb Scrapers

They should be INSIDE the tire ,,,like these are : Otherwise you will rub against the beautiful wheel and not your rubber tire

I truely think they are an awesome looking wheel, but I have 3 sets of wheels already ...

How much for the Madness stickers ? heheee

pulled from another thread

Do i really have to do this again. my god, i am running 17x8 in front and 17x9 in rear. might not be black but not hard to change that. and yes they are 4x100.

chris

Here's another quote

the tires that i am running right now are 205-40-17 in front and in the rear in have 215-40-17. the ET on my wheels are a little bit different to any other wheels. in the front i am running a +35 offset and in the rear it a +25 offset. i took my buddy matt about a week to figure out what offset to use and to clear the fender and the inner fender. the rear subframe on my car is about 1/2 in away from my wheel. little scary. not all tires can be stretched. toyo t1-s's and bridgestone s03(i am running) are the most common tire used for a stretched look, and no you cant put any wider then that because of fender clearance. my car is lowered from stock about 2 1/2 to 3 inches. my kw on the front are lowered all the way down and the rears are aout half way. because of the camber in the rear i had to run mini-madness adjustable control arms and due to oversteering i added a 20mm mini-madness sway bar. i handles awesome, i am sure if i put a set of 7in wide wheels on front and back i am sure i would handle 10 times better. I AM NOT GIVING OUT THE MAKE. i dont want to be one of those guys that everyone else has the same wheels and that everyone copies. took me 3 months to find the right wheels, and anyone else can do the same. any wheels that is wide you are going to be spending from 400 and up a wheel. so get ready. thanks for the comment on my car.

later

chris
