Batmini + pypz mounted.

No more photoshopping to guess what it would look like... The Pypz came in this week, and being such a nice day today, I took the opportunity to mount them:

Bigger versions can be found here: http://www.mappage.net/cmine/thumbnails.php?album=38 By clicking on the smaller pic to bring up the huge pic.

Ok. I like em. I'm thinking big brakes & painted calipers first, but before that, I have a problem. Above 30mph, there's shake in the steering wheel. I'm assuming that's because these are not hubcentric... So I have to get rings, yes?

How much danger/damage potential is there if I wait a couple days to get rings?

Doesn't look bad, they are nice wheels. Might be time to drop it slightly though.

How about photoshopping to see how you like a 1" lowered MINI?

Nice wheels but do get the rings. I'm surprised the wheel vendor din't mention them, (if they are supposed to be used in this application). You've balanced them all too, right?

It's disconcerting when a new vibration shows up, I know.

Happy Troubleshooting,
Tatt

I was wondering if you got wheels after that voting thread! They suit the car and look HUGE

Sounds like you need hub rings, if you don't know where to get them call DiscountTire and they ship them for a total of $15 (you need to know what size the wheels take). Personally I would not drive much w/o the rings, can't be good for the wheel bearings and such.

Not to add to your spending budget, but a couple things...

1.) I agree that you would get a better look by lowering your car.

2.) I love the wheels you picked, but they look like they were made specially for Brembo or something; like for a trade show--in order to show off a GIGANTIC brake kit. Because they're so wide open between the spokes, the stock rotors and calipers are looking mighty tiny now... so a big brake kit would help fill the empty spaces where you're now seeing asphalt.

Good wheel choice, but like any home improvement project, it opens doors to even more things you gotta do now...

It looks nice and big...are those 19"? Unfortunately, they also exaggerate how small small the brakes are But you knew that when you started spending money on your Mini, it would never end. You need metal hub rings and hopefully, it'll take care of the shake

Batmini, you have done very good. Those look killer and set you apart from the rest. It is screaming now for a drop though. Bigger brakes would look good too, but not as good as the drop though. Someone mentioned tinting the side reflectors on the arches and I agree. Lookin good.

Get rings quickly. It's just unsafe without them. You could overstress the lugs which could, in the extreme case, cause them to shear or just cause extra vibration - which you are already experiencing.

You can't put her on spike heels without the Mini skirt and then...you know...you need more expensive accessories

At least paint the stock calipers before dropping.
