Vibration under light braking

I'm getting an intermittent vibration through the steering wheel under light braking at moderate speeds.

What are the most likely causes of this? Warped rotor(s)? Wheel balance? Suspension? Other?

Here are some possibly relevant details:

MCS - JCW
JCW brakes
JCW suspension
H-Sport Comp rear bar
18" Centerline RPMs with 205/40s

Thanks in advance for any help.

I've felt brake pedal pulsing under mild braking a couple of times on non-MINIs with disk brakes. Pulsing correlated with wheel speed, as the pulse rate lowered as the car slowed. In each case pulsing was not noticeable under heavier braking. It was due to warped rotors: after they were turned the pulsing stopped.

I wouldn't mess with turning the rotors. If they're warped, the dealer will replace them.

Thanks. That's the plan.

I just wanted to make sure, but the brake pedal pulsing under medium to heavy braking, no ABS, is normal right? I mean, I only have 5000 miles on Morgan.

If you're only braking moderately during normal daily driving then "no" there shouldn't be any pulsation/judder felt (since you're not activating the ABS).

If there is judder/vibration, then it could be warped rotors or, more likely, a build up of crap on the rotors or glazed pads. Try doing some repeated (relatively) aggressive stops on a deserted/traffic free road and see if things improve. If not, have your dealer look at it.

Update: I took a close look at my rotors and found a crack in the passenger side front. Now that's what I call crappy!
