Which wheels: Need opinions

Looking to change my wheels, again!

I've narrowed my list down to these 5. Was going to try Superleggeras but the offset is too low. These are all 17's and can't make up my mind.

Rota Subzero(cast) ~17lbs ~$160ea

Rota Torque(Cast) ~18.5lbs ~$160ea

Rota Circuit 10(cast) ~17lbs ~$160ea

Ace Arius(cast) ~18lbs ~$170ea

Brig Mag 8 (forged)~14lbs ~$225ea

I'm leaning toward the Brigs as they are forged and the weight is close to my Centerlines.
Let me know what you think!

Of the the wheels you're showing, I'd be looking hard at the Brigs. A pretty low price for a forged wheel. Who sells em?

The Rota Subzeros are hard to beat - best looking wheel imho, and light for cast

i would go brigs no offense but rota wheels are generic wheels . rota is known as a copycat of brand wheels . i dont know about the quality but i know its affordable. for me nothing is worth more than your life.i rather go with a bigger company and better quality.

Wow, those Brig wheels look sweet. I've never heard of the brand before but they just jumped way up on my list of possible wheels.

I would HAVE to go with...
Brig Mag 8 (forged)~14lbs ~$225ea

WHY
OK without getting really long winded
4 bolt application
8 "spoke" design

I can't embrace a wheel that are not symmetrical

I am trying to decide on wheels right now myself.
I do not like "nut covers"
Do not like the look of unilug (when installed being able to see where other lugs would be)
The whole symmetrical thing (as above)
Needs to TRULY be lightweight
Not high on the BLING scale (ie chrome)

I have been toying with the idea of powder coating RED
on a Chili Red MCS

If you happen to be able to find powder coated rims
PLEASE share photos.

NOT trying to steel your thread ... GO BRIG
(of course I'm spending YOUR $)

They have 2 sets of 17x7.5 in gunmetal metallic and 1 set 17x8 in steel grey that are 4x100.

Here's their inventory as of 12/22/05:

OK, I was looking on Subydude.com and got the impression they didn't make 'em. What about those offsets though?

45 on the 17x7.5 and 48 on the 17x8. Have to use spacers on the 17x8 to fit.
Check with 18racing.com, I believe this is Rota USA retil sales group.

Rota wheels are made in the Philippines. I believe those wheels are made for civics and scions.

joker,

what's happening?! I'm leaning towards the Brigs. Their different and haven't seen anyone with them on their ride. I need to find out more on their warranty.

Still like the look of the Superleggeras though!

I'm not in to cheap wheels, and all these look cheap to me. You get what you pay for. Good advice on the Superleggera, but the offset is a bit out of range. Best wheel for the buck is the OZ Superturismo GT (17") in ET44. You can buy direct from OZ for less than Tire Rack, and get the proper offset. Tire Rack only sells the ET40 version in 17". WTFO???

http://shop.ozracing.com/moda/ozraci...l_finder_2.php

People are getting way too hung up on wheel weight. Anything in the 20 pound range is plenty light enough for road going MINIs. Sure lighter the better, but not at the expense of quality or durability. I recall recently an owner of a MINI S with BBS forged RV-Fs recently bent one badly on a pot hole. That was a $500 misforture. I might just be too practical for this crowd. Another great wheel for the money is the BBS RK. Decent ET and great quality and as light as some BBS forged wheels. See Tire Rack (about the only place left you can find them).

subzeros!

remember, not all forged wheels are made equal... i was so close to getting motegi traklites.. but i heard horror stories about them... a volks forged wheel may cost 1000 bucks each, but their quality is worth 1000 bucks
