Offset for 15x7?

I have an option for a 35mm offset vs. a 40mm offset in a lightweight 15x7 wheel. Advantage to one or the other? I will be running a 205/50/15 RT-615.

If Falken comes out with a wider RT-615 in a 15" next year would a 35mm offset be too much?

Mark

I'm running 205/55 R15 on 15x7 ET40 right now. Not sure if ET 35 would be too much or not.

I'd go with the 15x7, +40. A +35 could be a problem if the "wider" tire you are looking for is also taller than a 205/50/15. A 7", +40 wheel with a 225/50/15 tire will fit if you don't go super low but a +35 would be asking for trouble with more than just minimal lowering.

So you can fit that size without strut/fender clearance issues on a non-lowered MINI?

Yes, with a +40, 7" wheel.

you can even fit in on a lowered mini. I run 15x7 ET40 205/50/15 with H&R springs and Koni struts.

I was talking about 225/50, not 205/50 (on Konig Rewinds). I was worried it could rub not only on the fender but on the strut as well. gowest answered my question. Thanks guys.

I have 15x7 et+35 with 225/45/15. If you want to run 225s, get the 35 offset. The front will be fine either way, it is the BACK you need to be worried about. a 225 with et+40 will rub on the lower A-arm.
