Aftermarket Brake Pads Question

Hello Fellow Motorers!

I have an '02 MCS, and I am considering a change to EBC's Green Stuff brake pads. Does anyone have these on their MINI? Or anything similar? I am pleased enough with the performance of the factory pads, but I am getting tired of cleaning my white S-lites nearly every other day!!!
The ads I have read say the Green Stuff's nearly eliminate brake dust. Is this true? Are these pads good for daily driving? Do they squeal, or make other noises?
I have a catalog that also mentions Hawke Pads, they are more expensive, but does this mean they are better then EBC's?

Thank you in advance for any info you can impart.
Happy Motoring!!

I wouldn't say eliminate because I've never seen pads without dust. But it might reduce it a good bit. I've always used Mintex which are not the best with brake dust either.

EBC greens and powerslot rotors on my car . very happy with these pads. Car stops way better. And yes it does cut down on the brake dust. i havent cleaned my wheels in atleast a 2 or 3 weeks and they are barely covered with dust, when with my stock pads they would have been brown all over. Deffenately worth the money, and even more so for you since you have white S lites on your car.

Thank you both for the super quick responses.
Do you think I would have similar results if I just went with the pads and not the rotors. I think "Santa", aka, my wife , may not go for both......

Greenstuff (at least on my '05 MCSC) eliminated ~75% of the brake dust, and I have slotted / drilled rotors on as well. Think you will be pleased with them.

I first used Greenstuff on my MCS (I also used them with my previous car) with the stock rotors, and was quite happy with them. Dusting was dramatically reduced, though the wheels will eventually get dirty.

With second set of Greenstuffs, I also added slotted rotors. Dust levels went up quite a bit, but the brakes grabbed faster when they were wet. Dust with EBC and slotted rotors is still less than the original stock set up.

I think you'll be happy with a set of Greenstuff pads and your factory rotors.

I have the popular Hawk HPS / Powerslot combo, and the amount of brake dust is significantly less than stock.

Helix13.com carries Greenstuff on their website, IIRC. Great folks.

Webbmotorsports.com may too (I'm less sure without checking), and again good people.

I could go look for you, but if you have a MINI you NEED to bookmark their sites so go look yourself.

I have had the EBC's on a different car and been really happy with them, less dust a bit more agressive, but I went to the Ferrodo DS 2500 on the Pooper, that somebody else recommended. Fantastic. Even more agressive, just a bit of heat in them and they bite down like an anchor. Maybe a touch more dust but really worth it. www.raceshopper.com has had the best prices I can find, email them for a quote. Great service, satisfied customer. I ended up going to theses instead last week for even more stopping power.
