Anyone have "meshy" wheels?

When I was looking into purchasing a Vette, the wheels that some people had that were just pure sex were the CCW Classics with a black center.. you can see them here:

http://www.ccwheel.com/files/wheelpr...php?id=classic

However, they are pretty expensive ($600/wheel or so) and I am not sure that they are made in a 4 bolt variety. Is there anyone here running that kind of wheel, or something similar looking and lesser in price?

Thanks!

R90s in Anthracite

Take a look at the R90s at your MINI dealer. Just before I took delivery, I had the dealer replace the web spokes (for sale by the way) for these in anthracite. They're about $420 each.

Which is just a smoking deal for a 22 pound, 17" rim...

You could have nearly ANY wheel for $420 a pop. R90's would be a tough sell .

take a look at the ASA AR1's offered by tirerack. Not quite as *solid* mesh, more of a BBS/BMW style look to them.

I was going to get a set until I stumbled on to a set of used Rota Circuit 8's for a cheap.

The R90s are BBS. A replica is just that ... a cheap imitation

depends... if you're looking for dressup (fit and finish) it's top notch...
and why would you not go for multi-piece if you're going for dressup?

but for performance, R90's are boat anchors. heavy burden on the brakes.
haven't used my set for over 2 years almost.

What's the diffrence? I have NEVER heard of a wheel failing structurally. (potholes on too low of profile tires does not count)

If a wheel looks good and is as light or lighter than the original then the cheap imitation is a smart imitation.

I love my r-90's. . . even if they are heavy, they are beautiful and I am just a sucker for 2 piece BBS. . .

If I ever bought another set, I'd buy these in the 15" size. . .

yes, in the business world, we call it 'value added' instead of 'cheap substitute
which might do for some people..' (not saying about the R90 replicas in particular,
but imitations in general).
