15" Wheel Roll Call!

Well, I think I have finally narrowed it down to 15's.

I would really appreciate some pics of 15's on the minis

Hey Haywood, Aliso Viejo is my old stomping ground! (moved home to Utah 2 years ago, after 9 years in Cali...)

I just ordered a set of 15s for my winter wheels - Konig Rewinds in graphite. No pics yet, but I love the pics I've seen of them. Check DiD's photos of these wheels on MotoringFile:

My 15" wheels on my current '02 Cooper...lighter and non run flats with all season rubber...much more practical here in the northeast. This model of wheel no longer available, but has been replaced with the Delta Spoke which I have ordered on my '06 Cooper now awaiting shipment.

15" Delta Spokes available on '06 Models

I just put a set of Rewinds on mine too. Its absolutly amazing how much lighter these are compared to Slites. Way faster off the line. I have snow tires on them now, whats a good summer tire and what size should I look for?

I'm running 205/50 (summer only of course)

It lowers the car another half inch or so....just have to creep over the speed bumps

I'm really liking those Konig Rewinds.

Where are you ordering them? What do they run?

whoa! You guys are making me reconsider selling my holeys when my '06 MC arrives next month. I've been contemplating aftermarket 16s but wanting to stay light, but I'm starting to really like the look of the 15 inch holeys, particularly on my "old school" color Pepper White with black roof.
Maybe I better drive for a while and not end up with both buyer's & seller's remorse. Those old school 15's in the post above look great - who makes 'em? What do you guys think about grey center, polished lip for PW/B cooper?

gold center /polish looks the best on PW/B, IMO.

Check out page 53 in the "SHOW ME YOUR WHEELS" thread.

It's funny how the recent trend toward ginormous wheels makes me feel (wrongly, I know) like going to a 15" wheel on my Cooper S is somehow a compromise. I believe pretty much every car I've ever owned had 14" wheels (a couple might have even had 13"), except for my Passat, which had 15", and my wife's Pilot, which has 16". Yet the smallest car of all, my MINI, currently has 17", and here I'm worried (wrongly, I know) that the 15" wheels I'm getting for winter will look "funny," like some freakish clown car. Shame on me.

Bigger every year, it's the American way.

I wouldn't be surprised if I end up liking the 15" wheels a lot, and running them all year.

P.S. Haywood, the graphite Konigs would look pretty tasty on your DS.

I can appreciate the "old school" style, but I'm just not that type of person. Here are are my "new school" 15x7 SSRs.
